Heading to Oaklawn in a few weeks, where is a good place to stay in hot springs or right outside. Hot springs.

Found 1 place, but it was 59mins away. Really don't want to drive that far after leaving track. Prefer 30 mins or less.

Are they getting sports betting in Arkansas, or still waiting and dragging their feet like Missouri

Oaklawn has a hotel on premise right outside the track. Check it out.

Relatively inexpensive - stay at the DoubleTree on Lake Hamilton.

Somewhat more expensive and walking distance to good restaurants/bars - stay at The Waters in downtown HS. Old building with a good re-work and on the main street across from Bath House Row.
Get a cocktail at The Ohio Club next door, a beer at Superior Bath House Brewery across the street, breakfast at the diner a few doors down, ice cream at Kilwins. You're set.

Arkansas has had sports betting for a couple of years now.

It’s also in the middle of Hot Springs so you shouldn’t have a problem finding anywhere to stay.

I said frick it, and got a room with view of track, on site at Oaklawns hotel.

I'm already planning on losing X amount, why be cheap on a hotel.

The Doubletree is less than 10 minutes away and is pretty nice.

Also, it would probably be easiest to stay at the Oaklawn hotel. I've not been there so I don't know what it's like, but it's pretty new and I'm sure it's nice.

Get a corn beef sandwich with a beer next to the upstairs bar (behind indoor seating)

They have a sports betting area within the casino itself where you can bet, lounge, and watch the games. There are several hotels you can stay in which are good right in Hot Springs, Embassy Suites, Hotel Hot Springs, Doubletree, etc. or stay at the Casino Hotel. Best Western Winners Circle is relatively cheap and right across the street. They started their live horse racing meet on Fridays through Sundays as well so you can get in on that action, too.

I’ve been there occasionally over the years, a long time live music staple that has survived the test of time. Most of the night spots I frequently visited have long since gone. So different from the era where strip clubs lined the downtown area and you saw their daily ads in the local paper.
