Relevant to what? The sec west? Sure.

The sec? Probably not considering you didn’t make it to Atlanta and had no bearing on who from the East made it.

Nationally? Not even a little.

How about being 3 of 4 against LSU?

You’re 2-8 against LSU since joining the SEC. and collectively you’ve been outscored 129-91 in your three wins*

True. Which is why we fired our coach, which started the trend over the last three years. You do realize that Sumlin isn’t on the sidelines anymore? I know you might wish that not be the case, but it isn’t.

You see, when analyzing an outcome as a scientist. You can’t look at a Petri dish and say, “I think it’s green because of something totally unrelated to the experiment.” It’s not green because the experiment before it was green. They are mutually exclusive events.

The teams of Sumlin and Jimbo don’t have the same players or the personnel. They are different Petri dishes.

I know you would like them to be the same, befit supports what you wish to be true.

But it’s not true.

If they do a repeat of last year this year, are they still overrated then?

You’re rated #6

If you make the playoffs then you were underrated

If you finish top 10 you were properly rated

If you finish outside of that then you were overrated

These thirsty “please validate me” threads are for pussys though

You played against depleted rosters last year in pretty much empty stadiums. Aggie will not beat LSU this year and I’m willing to go as far as a ban bet.

Great question. The original question was about being overrated in the current coaches poll. So who should be above A&M? Name the teams.

Not seeking validation. Just actually seeing how folks think and if it’s based on anything related to actual recent data that is statistically significant.

This is a great point which led to my question. If this year repeats will you feel the same way?

Based on how I think their seasons will play out?

UF, UNC, ND, Iowa State, Oregon, LSU.

Now do I think we deserve to be ranked ahead of y’all now? No

We don’t know, there hasn’t been 1 game played yet. Preseason polls are useless. We know Bama, Clemson, Ohio State and Oklahoma will likely be in the mix because they’ve proven over the past decade that they will be.

Look at your past 8 years

9-1
8-5
9-4
7-6
8-5
8-5
8-5
9-4

You don’t deserve the benefit of the doubt but your coach does.

The games will be played and you will win or you will lose. End of story.

This is attempt to receive some validation is soooo pathetic .

Oh my. Okay. You see last year we beat you. The year before you beat us. Before we beat you again.

It’s appears that at best we are even using current coaches as data. We seem to be alternating games. Or if you want to really freak out, maybe we win this year because of the truly unfortunate injury to your QB (not sarcasm here) and the worst case is the trend is we are beating you 3 of 4 games. Right now it seems at least 50/50.

Your "trend" would indicate LSU blows out A&M in 2021.

If you only end with one loss this year I will change my mind about you being overrated yes. Now wanna ban bet that Aggie doesn’t beat LSU this year?

I don’t care about validation. I’m just trying to see if opinions derived here are based on statistical trends of recent information or something less accurate.

For the record, I too am skeptical about A&Ms previous year. It was a CoVid year. And very strange. This is why I asked the question they way I asked it. I’m not seeking validation but rather querying honestly.

Do you think if they repeat last year this year that this isn’t an anomaly? I personally think it will take one more year to convince me. But as you are aware I am an Ag. So I was wondering what others not me thought.

FYI... my last trip to DKR in 2010 we beat them 24-17

I was at that game as well. It was pretty cold that night but I had been living up north for long enough not to care.

Anyway, vintage Longhorns. The fans bitched and moaned until the early third and then left en masse.

Sure. Ban bet. One year. Or 5 years. Or 10.
