If they do a repeat of last year this year, are they still overrated then?

Because neither out come is certain. On one hand last year seems like an anomaly but in the other there are reasons for said outcome (new coach and such).

I’m just wondering what trend of data influences this opinion? Two 1 loss season. Three? Four?

Or is this an opinion that will never be fairly evaluated on recent data?

I’m a mathematician and a scientist and I’m just wondering what I’m dealing with here.

I’m just wondering because when Texas was in their glory years from 2005-2011 and won a natty during that time, we beat them 3 times during that period. Same when we beat OU the last time we played. It seems that we should just shut the hell up and play the games?

Cause these “opinions” are easily upset and disproved to the contrary as all these teams are in fact very good and it actually pretty silly to state that one team definitely is or isn’t at a certain level. But if the data is there, I’m wondering if you actually care.

But with regard to aggies. Will they be over rated after this season if it’s like last season? Or no? Just wondering how whacked y’all are. And yes, I’m talking to you Texas.

Win something relevant, then you will earn respect.

Win something. A division. A conference. A natty. Anything.

Nice deflection. So you’re saying that unless a team has won a national championship recently then the current ranking is overrated.

Do you know how rankings work? Do you realize only one team can win a championship? So by definition, probably half the teams that are in the rankings are overrated by that logic?

If that’s your criteria, that explains a lot. It’s like a scientist who sees data that a virus could kill someone but says “Nope I’ve never seen them die before, so it can’t happen. This data is overrated”. It’s frankly quite illogical.

I’m a mathematician so I say this without bias. Although I am an Aggie fan. I would never in a million years say Texas was overrated if they finished the season nearly undefeated and likely would repeat that. That’s just dumb. They aren’t there now but they could be.

Anyway. Sorry for the diary. It’s what I do. Analysis. And I would say if A&M repeated what they did last year, that that is relevant data to the question at hand. But that’s remains to be seen.

How about being 3 of 4 against LSU? Is that relevant to you? If we win this year that’s what it will be. Not relevant enough for ya?

I use 4 years because that’s the tenure of our coach.

Not sure how beating a bad LSU team makes someone "relevant."

Mississippi State has beat LSU more than Aggie over the last decade, doesn't mean they're nationally "relevant."

You’re counting a win for a game you haven’t even played yet

Stuff like this is why nobody takes A&M seriously

It’s not a deflection. It’s honest. Until UGA beat Auburn in the SEC championship game and made it to the natty they were simply a team of all
Potential. Then they won things. Two HUGE games and then a miracle/improbable play by two true freshman.

aTm needs to at least win the division or it will always be overrated.

And yes, I understand your point on rankings, but rankings are just opinions, winning shite is facts.

Shhhhh.... don't tell them about this.

FYI... my last trip to DKR in 2010 we beat them 24-17 and they had to sit home during bowl season. I'm sure Alamo Bowl officials were crushed.

You’re 2-8 against LSU since joining the SEC. and collectively you’ve been outscored 129-91 in the three games in your 2 wins* the past 3 years.

Okay. I understand your logic. We’re overrated. But you’re not at 13. But if we beat you then you’re a bad LSU team. But if we win, then we’re overrated. Huh?

So by that logic you do believe that A&M should be ranked above you because you concede they would beat you as you’re a “bad LSU team”? You’re own arguments when applied don’t pass the sniff test when real analysis is done on the data given.

Who should be above A&M? Name them. Justify it based on current or at least recent trends or current team status.

I objectively could see a few teams but not many.

You are starting to get it. This is called LSU Kunt think. No one can beat a good LSU team.

I never said either of these things.

I think LSU should realistically be around #17 or #18.

Preseason rankings don't really matter to me though.

2020 LSU was pretty bad.

The question was if the Aggies repeated last season would they be considered relevant then. You might wanna read things better. Respectfully.
