Rumor is that USM already told him thanks but no thanks.
When a team that has gone 1-23 the last two seasons says "No" to you, that should be a wake up call.

You would certainly think.
At least thusfar he's been smart enough to not just drop out of school and head back to Morton...

Mullen has repeatedly proven that he isn't playing anyone's arse unless they are a good practice player.
In a way, I think this is a good thing but some players aren't good at practice. Maybe you are talking about effort in practice and not necessarily having a "good" practice though.
Bo is a shitty practice player but is good on gameday. It's not like he doesn't try in practice. He's just not good.
With Quay though, he was almost certainly not trying and just getting his arse kicked in practice.

Yeah his point was definitely the effort. Dak is another example of a bad practice player, throws ducks all day long some practices but when game time rolls around he is a different player.

Quaysus is a beast though, right?
He's a beast and should be starting on our DL this fall but he doesnt know how to deal with coaches getting on his arse and doesnt know how to play 100% and bust his arse every play hes in .

It's a good thing and a bad thing for us at times. I was talking about effort involving Quay specifically. However, performance at practice is also valued highly by Mullen -- maybe overvalued. That's why he stuck Devon Bell at punter a few times that cost us when Swedenberg had been very good in games(because he looked better at practice that week). Also couldn't believe he let Skinner(and Broomfield last year) lose their starting spots right at the end of their careers -- although the replacements seemed like clear upgrades by the time the moves were made.
I do think his approach fosters great competition at practice -- and breeds improvement and development though. So, it's hard to know if he is really handling it correctly or not.
Basically -- I'm going to back his approach while things are ok and we're expecting a great season next year ---- and I will think it's the stupidest thing ever as soon as we underachieve.

Quay's problems are more than not handling getting his arse jumped. He is quickly headed to being the next Dontae Walker.
