would make sense. Boykin seemed okay I guess but nothing special. With Pachall leaving this year, could definitely see Davis heading there

This dude aint playing QB in college, will have to hit a major growth spurt and gain a ton of arm strength. Amazing athlete that will play DB or receiver, would not be suprised to see him as a top 50 recruit by the time he graduates as an ATH.

I said the same thing about Russell Shepherd a few years ago to some LSU fans and was screamed at for it. I tend to agree with you here, but in two years he could have a much better frame and arm.

To be fair, every recruiting service missed on Shep at qb and he did move to wr.... I think most show him as an ath already

I was listening to SiriusXM College Sports last week and an aTm fan called in talking about how awesome Davis was and how "the aggies wouldn't miss a beat without Manziel and might even be better with Davis." Said he was more athletic with a bigger arm. Serious as a heart attack

He is faster and has a much stronger arm than Manziel. Both of those things are true.

Matt Davis is a great athlete... Hill and Joeckel are solid and we have Kyle Allen coming in next year. He could possibly leapfrog both of them (although redshirting him is probably the safest route). Wish Davis the best of luck. He will make an impact wherever he goes.

Keep in mind that Allen is graduating in December and will enroll in the spring.

would have loved to see him try to change positions, but I'm having trouble seeing this as a big loss. I appreciate his passion for A&M, his enormous effort and impact on recruiting when he was a Senior in HS, but this is just part of college football.

We have finally reached the point where our locker room and future pipeline is loaded with elite talent...especially at QB.

Manziel
Kenny Hill - 2013
Kyle Allen - 2014 (#1 QB in country)
Kyler Murray - 2015 (Won 5A State Title as a Soph, son of Aggie great Kevin Murray)

The writing was on the wall that Davis wasn't ever going to see the field at QB.

I hate to see him go, but that's all about his enthusiasm rather than his abilities. I think Tyler is the perfect spot for him. He can excel at QB there, and with one year as a starter under his belt, who knows?

I wish him well.

He is currently a RS Freshman.

Assuming he goes JUCO, then signs with another school, he'll have 3 years to play 3.

Which only says you can't judge a player by stats, right?

Then the comment is even more stupid. Manziel didn't explode until his senior year.

That sucks. Once Manziel's suspended for the year TAMU will be lucky to make a bowl. Their gonna be like Arky in 2012.
