1, actually. The rest all dropped out of the top 10.

Thats not what the stat means. You understand that right?

Otherwise literally no one would have "wins over a #1 ranked team" unless they beat a team early that became #1.

Its about ranking at the time of play. Everyone knows that. You know that.

This won't be a popular take on here, but Tua seems to be the exact same QB he was as a freshman. Actually, he may have even regressed a bit. Don't get me wrong, he's still really good (great). It's just odd to me. Doesn't seem like he's developed much, if at all. IDK, I don't watch every Bama game, so maybe I'm way off here, but that's my take.

How much better would you like Tua to be? Look at his career stats. He actually has improved every year, but I'm not sure what else you want him to do? 100% completion percentage? Not throw a single INT?

On the other hand, look at Joe's career stats. This season looks that much more impressive because he has been an average Joe until now.

Except when it's not, as LSU fans are constantly pointing out.

I completely disagree. The final rankings are a lot better at showing how good the opponent really was. In 2014, Alabama beat Miss State when they were ranked #1, but it's silly to call that a win over the #1 team.

Edit to add: Obviously we can't use the final rankings for this season yet, so current rankings are the best we have. They are based on more complete information than "game-time" rankings.

That is a fair reply.

For the record, I am not concerned with Joe Burrow. I was just talking about Tua vs. Tua.

All, I have to go on is what I see when I watch, but your stats seem to paint a different story. Like I said, I could easily be wrong, and the stats you just posted seem to indicate that I may be.

Last 10 games they played in, not teams last 10 games.... Let us repeat that for you, last 10 games the QB has played in

I think it's also tough to evaluate how much he has improved year-to-year because every year he has a new offensive coordinator who runs a slightly different system.

It would have been interesting to see if/how much he improved over three years being in the same offense. Hopefully he'll have that opportunity in the NFL (but with the amount of job turnover in the NFL as well, I'm not holding my breath).

Burrow transferred to a school just a couple years removed from a les miles offense.

Next excuse.

Not sure what excuses you think I'm making? In one of my previous posts, I showed that Tua's stats have improved every year. So, my point was already proven, I was just saying it's difficult to evaluate the improvement beyond straight stats because the offensive scheme has changed each year.

My comment is about Tua vs. Tua, not Tua vs. Joe.

This thread is about Tua and Burrow.

You should read better.

It's possible to cover multiple issues in one thread.

For example, in my first post I showed that Tua has been consistently great throughout his career (and has even improved every year), while Joe has been consistently average until this year, when him and Tua have put up similar numbers. There's your Tua vs. Burrow angle.

Then, in my next post, in a response to a poster who clarified that s/he wanted to talk about Tua vs. Tua over the years, I took a deeper dive and tried to look beyond the stats. That's your Tua vs. Tua angle.

But thanks for the suggestion, I'll definitely try to work on my reading comprehension skills.

Burrow> Tuna

Don't be hurt by this.

You're right, improvement is frowned upon. You act like he regressed, where do you retards come from?
