Q&A with UGA HC Kirby Smart........

A meeting was held recently with Kirby Smart and UGA President, Jere Morehead, present. A few tidbits..........
At the meeting, it was said (Kirby Smart speaking)..............
-- Coaching in the college football ranks has become such a grind with 46 of 52 weekends of the year were football related......taking a toll on themselves as well as their families.......three assistant coaches interviewing w/NFL teams, one gone already
-- CKS chose to live less than a mile from UGA athletic offices so he himself could be close to work
-- Was asked about the 9 game schedule.........stated the Univ of Texas AD's statements were taken out of context and doesn't believe it's going to happen (at least any time soon).....UGA AD Josh Brooks agreed
-- CKS expects both Texas and Oklahoma will visit Athens in 2025 to play the Dawgs (yes, both in same season)
-- CKS asked the SEC scheduler in Birmingham why Georgia was playing both Texas and Alabama on the road in 2024.....the SEC scheduler responded to Kirby Smart with the question, "who's the best team in the SEC?", to which CKS responded, "we are". The scheduler replied, "there's your answer"
-- CKS commented about the transfer portal and coaches who complained about kids who committed to them and then changed their minds by taking a better offer....."maybe you should evaluate better", he said.
-- CKS stated he will not take a player who tries to get outbid for his services
-- UGA AD Josh Brooks commented that the GPA for Student Athletes @UGA is the highest its ever been
-- Georgia's medical and training facilities are the very finest in the nation. In fact, Georgia has 20 physicians on its staff, more than any other school in the country.....facilities are state of the art

Most of this is propaganda, but that first point can’t be overstated. The calendar sucks for college football and we will lose coaching talent because of it. The quality of play will suffer as a result.

Did he mention anything about his programs street racing performance or recruiting administrators driving recruits around drunk?

not a flame - asking because I honestly can't recall.. wasn't there a post in the last week or so about georgia having the lowest graduation rate among SEC athletes?

He didn't add the comment where he was asked about the state of the SEC right now and how it is changed and he thought it was funny that UF was predicted to go 2-10 by some experts and replace Vandy as the new doormat of the SEC.
