We got off to a slow start with losses to TCU, Stetson, UTA then our made up rivalry A stAte. Swept at home by the Gators followed by a series loss to Auburn.
I'll also add the Tournament has zero value anymore.
We still have an outside shot at a super with our cobbled together pitching staff.

Wes for sure didn't schedule Georgia a great out of conference schedule. But it's really the combination of that schedule and losing a couple of midweek games to inferior competition that kept our RPI low for most of the year considering our ranking. But it's just a flaw if the computers are trying to say this current Georgia team is the same as the one that lost those early midweek games.

Playing shitty in state teams doesn't help the RPI.

It does not hurt to play them unless you lose some of them. State losing some OOC games to poor teams has cost us a couple of regional host opportunities in the recent years.
The point being that all your games count. Not just conference games. Those OOC games are crucial.
State only lost two OOC games this year both by one run (neutral site-UCLA) and on the road at USM. Taking care of business in the OOC area was huge for us this year.

You guys are the least preferred #2 in the country. You will wreck one of the hosts regional. Good luck!

Southern Cal was #9 in RPI and they're not hosting.
I haven't done a deep dive on all of the teams resumes because it's pointless. In every sport, every year, there's always a bridesmaid - a bubble team that just misses some arbitrary cutoff. There's always a complaint. There's always a debate. It's baked into the cake of selection.

It hurts playing Pine Bluff and Little Rock because winning those games add nothing to the RPI when you lose to Stetson twice and UT-Arlington.
It would have helped the RPI had Arkansas not lost to Missouri State that had a much better RPI than those goofy teams that I mentioned.
