I'm saying all another team has to do is go into a half court game with wise shooting and this negates the other teams defensive rebounding and running game. Big men do not like to run. They like to play half court. Mizzou was smashed last night by double digits with this same strategy. Nolen was beaten over and over by this same playbook. Buzz Williams is a better choice than Mike simply because he MAY be able to get big men and play half court.

My all-time favorite "whatever happened too..." person.

In the sense he is talking about, I do not know if Darnell (I try when I want to, which is never) Robinson or Lee Wilson would qualify?
But we had a significant inside presence with those guys and Corliss.
Matter of fact, the only time Nolan went to the Final Four was when he had what I call "inside presence". Big O. Corliss, Darnell R. and Lee Wilson. Nolan's best team was when he could slow the game down and pound it down low, control the tempo, when they were diverse between half court and all out press.

WE GET IT, YOU DON'T LIKE MIKE ANDERSON.

Yes, I'm aware. Gregg Marshall's system reminds me of the 94-95 style. Call me crazy.
I read one person say he was a slow-down tempo, walk it up the court type coach.
On the flip side if having big men was the be all end all, Stan Heath would have advanced far into the tourney with Hill, Townes, Thomas, etc. You do not get much bigger than that as a team...

For me, it's not about like but who I think will do a better job. I also think Buzz would do better than Mike.
If our fanbase shares my expectations, which is to be an elite team, our fanbase and I will be disappointed in 4 years with Mike.

I think we would get back to consistently being in the tournament with Mike, but I think we would be a deep tournament team with Marshall. I don't really know a whole lot about Buzz

I like Anderson. But he...like Nolen...cannot recruit one or more big men. Big men do not like to play a pressing running game. Big men get more rebounds and block more shots than little men. Big men are essential in a half court game. Therefore, the forty minutes of hell will never be again. So, why try to play it again?

Lets be honest...The SEC is not a power and would easily be the best coach in the West...
We might lose in the 1st round though

There are plenty websites on the internet for you to browse if you are craving "big men".
Like someone else said give me a perimeter of athletic 6'5 guards that can rebound and defend. I don't disagree that big men are essential to a half court offense. MA is not my first choice, but he is far from my last.

I'm not worrying over it, I have zero say, no buildings bare my last name. Who ever the hire will either win or they will not which will lead them to being replaced if they do not.
We can argue over every candidate's pluses and minuses from to day until the day we are no longer allowed to use the internet, but really it doesn't matter. Looking back at the shite sandwich we have been served the past nine years, it is really hard to be upset with any of the coaches on the list. I see names that I think would be highly successful here, but I see no names in basketball right now that would guarantee success at a high level... Some may be more probable than others, but it is always a gamble.

I'm not worrying about it either, I criticize every coach but I do know we are upgrading.

A Kansas assistant coach told me tonight here in Tulsa that he would bet his house on Mike Anderson being the next coach at Arkansas and it could be done by Monday
