Good so we need to get abron in on this and we're good to go.
Abron is the only question left in the class.
I think he will either stay or be replaced with Otto...FWIW.
Oh, and since the class imploding didn't work out, it appears the next step is to blame Mike for Rotnei thinking about transferring, never mind that 'Shawn is going to stay and to the best of my knowledge, Rot hasn't filed for a release in the past 24 hours...

I heard Rot asked for his release today and Long told him no. Have ZERO idea how credible this is.

He doesn't need a release, he can just leave.

That's what I thought too. Since Pel was fired anyone could leave without sitting out a year, correct?

No, if he leaves, he will be paying out of pocket for his first year unless, he is granted a release, or he graduates early and enrolls in a graduate program not offered at the You of A...

Thought one of the sports guys twitter said Mike and Scottie are doing an inhome with Abron tomorrow.
Also if we keep everyone I'm guessing Pressey won't show up. One of my news buddies told me that Sanchez would likely lose his scholarship because he can pick up an academic one to make room for the incoming class but that was at the beginning of the year so that might have changed

Paper said Rotnei actually requested a release before MA was hired. Long told him he had to wait to speak with the new coach. Don't see how that can be Mike's fault since Rot didn't know Mike would be the coach when he asked to be released.

According to this
LINK
that is incorrect.
Q: If my coach leaves, can I transfer and immediately be eligible?
No. Contrary to popular belief, the departure of a coaching staff member does not grant a
student-athlete relief from the residence requirement on transferring.
However, there is a transfer exception for student-athletes transferring from institutions
that discontinue a sport, never sponsored the sport while the student-athlete was in
attendance, or reclassified the sport from NCAA Division I to Division III.
There also are other transfer exceptions (e.g., non-recruited student exception, return to
original institution without participation exception, two-year nonparticipation exception,
military service/church mission exception, etc.) that student-athletes may qualify for and
should consult their institution's compliance coordinator or call the NCAA membership
services staff for more information.

If he goes down a division it doesn't matter either. If he wants to leave he can at any time. A scholarship is a one year contract, not 4-5 like most think.

He also needs to go ahead and name the court at BWA after Nolan and have the ceremony during the first home game next year.

of course he can leave. a scholarship isn't a slave contract. but he wouldn't be eligible to play next year unless he went down a division.
