Yeah, I was just talking about their records at Mizzou. That seems to be the most fair comparison.

He never was "plan B", he was much further down the list.

He has a 3.8 million buyout and OU is set to pay in the 2-2.5 millionish range for him...

I thought it was Brad Stevens with the $3.8mil buyout. OU can have Buzz for that kinda cash.

So what's the hold up with Mike Anderson? Is he trying to just let Sexton milk as much as he can out of both sides.

Stupid question but do you have to actually have a twitter account to see a lot of these tweets?

+1

The Texas teams really waterd down the Big XII. Don't get me wrong Texas is good not, and so is A&M but neither has ever been world beaters like Kansas, Oklahoma(some years) Oklahoma State, Kansas State and Missouri. Heck even Iowa State had some great years with Tim Floyd and Larry Eustachy.

Stevens may have a buyout that high, do not know, he is not likely to ever coach outside of the state of Indiana.

Sexton was trying to do his job get the most money, Mike told him to back the frick off, allegedly...

Oklahoma played for a National Championship and has been to a few Final Fours, Oklahoma State was very good with Sutton, Iowa State was solid with Eustachy and Floyd.

Before Rick Barnes, I cant ever remember Texas being worth a shite. The old SWC was probably one of the worst conferences in the country between 1970 and its merger with the Big 8

Most of what you speak is post 1990.

Probably because it was before your time...

Arkansas, Houston, and Texas in the 70s-80s... They were good...

They have 2 national championships back in the day, and have been to 6 Final 4's most recently in 1995 and 2004. They were pretty damn good under Sutton IMHO. They have 17 NCAA trips in the past 20 years.

swc had some decent teams especially in the late 70s/early 80s. texas had a nice run for a few years under lemmons, a&m made the sweet 16 once under metcalfe, phi slamma jamma, and eddie always fielded a solid team

Thats about when I first remember watching and following college basketball.

Damn Dale, how old are you 50?

I knew Houston was good in the Early 80's but dropped off after Phi Slamma Jamma graduated, and I knew about Arkansas with the triplets and then with Day, Mayberry, and Miller, and then with the Big Nasty and Scotty THurman.

I have never heard of Texas doing much in basketabll ever before the mid 90s.

We played Texas in an epic Elite Eight game in '90 at Reunion Arena in Dallas, TX. The game was in the heart of Texas but it sounded like a home game for the Hogs.

Just about all their success in recent times were under Eddie... Both of the final fours were.
