We go 11-1

Beating bama

Bama goes 11-1 and makes the playoffs for their third mulligan

The only thing worse than the mulligans given to bama is Michigan still claiming they are the winningest program in college football history

Is LSU hosting some cheese-making competition?

If EVERYTHING goes right they go 11-1, losing to either Alabama or Georgia. If the wheels come off they go 8-4

LSU’s over/under win total for the season is 7.5 according to Vegas. How does exceeding expectation at 8-4 = wheels falling off? Some of you are so dumb it makes my head hurt

Let the record show that the vast majority of LSU fans are predicting 3 or more losses.

Take that as you will.

Are you going to start a "predict the record" thread for every team in the West? Geez.

My prediction is LSU loses to Auburn and Georgia. Joe is a miracle and gets it done against the Tide. I know it sounds crazy

Miami - L (Talented and experienced Miami team vs. QB-less LSU = L)
SeLa - W
@Auburn - L (Home team has won the last couple of years)
LaTech - W
Ole Miss - W (Ole Miss has no run defense)
@Florida - W (Mullen has no talent to work with)
Georgia - L
MSU - L (MSU has a QB while LSU does not)
Alabama - L
@Arkansas - W
Rice - W
@Texas A&M - W

7-5 + Independence Bowl blowout = 8-5

Ed Orgeron is fired following a 42-13 home loss to Alabama

Perhaps that was overstating it but if you think LSU going 8-4 is "exceeding expectations" then I think you have to start acknowledging that LSU is no longer a football power and won't be again for quite some time.

Winning more games than Vegas predicts you to win is the literal definition of exceeding expectations.
quote:

I'm not an LSU fan but from everything I've heard I don't see how LSU losing more than 3 games can be seen as anything other than a disappointment of a season.

Our starting QB has never started a college football game in his career. We have 5 total scholarship cornerbacks, 4 of which have never started. We don’t return a single skill player on offense that made a significant contribution last season. We are in the middle of installing a new offense
quote:

Burrow is supposedly significantly better than anyone they currently have, and they were predicted at 6-7 wins before he came

He’s never started a college game, never played in the SEC, and couldn’t beat out JT Barrett or Dwayne Haskins.

But idk, maybe my outsider impression of LSU is drastically overestimating how good they are

Yep
