12 spots open...five go to conference winners... so 7 at large:

- Notre Dame has one loss (a bad one to N. Illinois)...here is their remaining schedule:

- ACC: two at most (the two that make the conference championship game)...contenders are Miami, Clemson, Pitt and SMU...hopefull the loser of their title game gets blown out and ACC only gets one team.

- Big 12: probably one at most but may steal one from ACC...contenders are Iowa State, BYU, Arizona State, Texas Tech and Kansas State.

You have to assume that the two teams from the SEC and Big Ten that make the conference championship game are in.

My hope is that the SEC gets at least four teams...

SEC - 4
Big Ten - 3
ACC & Big 12 - 3
Top G5 team - 1
Notre Dame 1

There will be a big Notre Dame bias to get them in, as well as Miami. It's worth noting that the computer polls like the Big 12 more than the ACC.

If A&M miraculously wins the SECCG and ND wins out, will it still be ND bias that gets them in?

Not trolling; interested to hear people's thoughts on this unlikely scenario.

Also, Chicken scares me.

A longhorn fan created a thread to track and follow the 12 team playoff seeding and I requested a sticky for it several days ago, it would be good to have a sticky that all playoff seeding conversations could be on

Just saying

if ND wins out, they are in, unless some of their wins are really ugly.

2 Big 12 (BYU 13-0 CC, ISU 12-1)
2 ACC (SMU 12-1 CC, Miami 12-1)
4 B1G (Bucks 12-1 CC, Ducks 12-1, Rapist fricks 11-1, Indiana 11-1)
3 SEC (Texas 13-0 CC, Tide 11-2, Georgia 10-2)
1 G5 (Army 14-0 CC)

That 5 seed may not look as good matched up with a 14-0 Army team.

FSU has been saving up all of their wins to bust out against ND.

But you said it would be bias if ND gets in, right?

If A&M wins the SECCG, that victory at Kyle looks amazing, right?

I hope Navy & Army beats ND's arse.

Could potentially get the winner of the Army & Navy game in the playoffs the way they've been playing. That'd be pretty cool.

If ND loses a game:
SEC: 4
Big 10: 3
Big 12: 2
ACC: 2
G5: 1

Here is Indiana's remaining schedule:

Loser of Ohio State/Indiana out of playoffs? My guess is that Indiana flames out...

Only if they can't make it to the CG.

I have OSU beating Indiana.

OSU 12-1 after beating Oregon in the CCG
Oregon 12-1 after losing to OSU in CCG
Indiana 11-1 after losing to OSU
PSU 11-1 after losing to OSU

Biggest hurdle is this weekend vs Nebraska imo.

so what would be Indiana's signature win? Michigan?

NDs loss to NIU certainly hurts but it's not a season killer. If they don't win out, they're done for certain. They should have no trouble against FSU or the Service Academy duo but USC is going to be a tough game. ND also has a ton of players out for the year. I'm a huge ND fan but if they get in they win two games MAX.

well, this is what happens when you have 16 teams and uneven schedules...Indiana avoids the two of the three best teams (Oregon and Penn State)...Michigan could have 5 losses at the end of the season.

There is a reason Indiana is only ranked No. 16.

Indiana can easily lose 4 of those games on their schedule.

Penn St definitely has the easiest road to 11-1 or 12-0 and the Big 10 CG depending on how Oregon and OSU finish out the season. Michigan could potentially surprise a couple of them if Tuttle is playing good now that he is healthy and will probably be starter going forward. He would've been starter but got injured during the summer.

So, I wouldn't sleep on Michigan yet if Tuttle has a better showing this weekend against Illinois.

Unfortunately some two loss sec teams could get squeezed
I’ve seen several sec teams that could easily win big 12 and acc but we had to cater to them to get to the 12 team playoff to begin with

It'd be interesting to see a team like Ole Miss, Vandy, or Mizzou play a team like BYU or Iowa State.

Perfect opportunity for the conferences to man up to Notre Dame. Tell them get in a conference or you’re left out of the playoff !!
