No they didn't. LSU was pre-season top 5 last year. Auburn has nowhere near the overall talent as LSU.

We also out recruited LSu this last year so they are not nearly as good as they once were.

Last year was really just a group of kids out there.

So au fans base the expectations of their head coach on the predictions of rival fans on message boards?

And the media had Auburn at no higher than 5th in the west with an average record of 6-6 and 2-6 in conference.

8-4

Losses to UGA, Bama, LSU and either Clemson or MSU.

I will continue to assert that Auburn will work the Hogs hard and long.

Auburn will be better in 2013 and very strong in 2014, especially with the favorable home-away schedule.

I also predict that silly people will continue to argue with the Auburn fans on this thread even though they are obviously trolling.

So, apparently opposing fan bases set the preseason expectations of Auburn. I guess if they exceed my 5-7 prediction for this year then they will exceed expectations and all will be wonderful on the plains

That is what we do with livestock on the plains.

I agree. Unfortunately, we are still a year away. Cam leaving early and not being their to groom the next guy, Dyer leaving early, and the young OL not getting the reps they should have last year has set us back a little.

I think every individual sets their own expectations. However, the majority of the published expectations had AU winning between 4-6 games.

Makes sense doesn't it. If you expect them to go 5-7 and they do better, have they not exceeded expectations?
