What makes Marshall a "mediocre" player? He's not Peyton Manning throwing the ball, but with his rushing ability, I'd think he's a little better than "mediocre".
He's just not a good passer. He is a perfect fit for the offense he runs and he wouldnt do much of anything in any other type of offense so Malzahn gets great credit there for getting the absolute most out of him with a hurry up offense.

But back to the original point. His passing numbers were better than Prescott and Thompson last year.

A whole bunch of Marshall bashing, but not one recommendation of another player yet.
This might be the weakest crop of SEC QB's in a decade. But that is to be expected considering last year was the strongest in a decade.
I was thinking the same thing. The obvious choice is Marshall, he almost has to be there. The fact that he is the choice, let alone so clearly the choice, really illustrates just how weak the SEC is at the QB position this year.
It would be akin to having Jake Holland be just as obvious a choice for preseason ASEC LB. How bad would the LBs have to be in conference for that to happen?

And you're somehow trying to knock the guy?
If he's a "perfect fit" for his offense, then I'd say he's a pretty great quarterback.

Comparing holland to marshall?... are you retarded Nicole?

McKinney at one of the lb spots

I would also have to say Derunnya Wilson has a shot at being one of the top 5 WR next year

I never mentioned Prescott.
And I said Thompson based on what I've seen and how I think he'll project. I dont play the game in the pre-season of simply picking the best leftover player mostly based on just stats from the previous season.

A'Shawn Robinson at one DT

Carl Lawson DE
The Blaxican doesn't belong anywhere near this list, but agreed on Lawson. He'll be AT LEAST 2nd team on the real one this year, but probably 1st team.
That is without really taking a look around the league to see what other DEs are coming back. It doesn't really matter though, they won't be keeping CL off the team.

Who?

I specifically said college QB Rating is for PASSING, not sure why you're going into this argument now.
Because the thread is trying to determine the All-SEC team, therefore trying to determine who the All-SEC quarterback should be. Who is and isn't a better passer in itself isn't particularly germane to that discussion, at least not directly.

Im knocking him on his passing ability which we all agree is pretty lacking.
The offense he runs masks a lot of his passing inefficiency by hurrying teams up and exacerbates his best ability of running. I bet if you simply took the HUNH out of that offense his numbers would take a serious nose dive.

Since this is the stat you want to use.
Wallace finished behind.
Mett
McCarron
Shaw
Manziel
Marshall
Franklin
How many of those guys are coming back next year?

He's been added. Thanks for your participation.

Passing is a pretty huge aspect of being a QB last I checked.

None, but once again I also said I dont base pre-season picks just on who the best returning player is based solely on stats. Round and round we go.

Nope. You may be though. Apparently missed the obvious exaggeration and the actual comparison: When Marshall is the #1 QB, that is how weak it makes the SEC look at the QB position.
Let me try to think of something a bit closer to the truth since you can't seem to grasp the concept otherwise. It would be like having Artis-Payne as a 1st team RB going into this year. He is a good solid back, but if he is ever the best back in the entire conference, that doesn't say much for the conference.
Hope that helps.
