Texas A&M went 11-2 our first year in the SEC … without a bye week (a hurricane the first week forced our scheduled first game to be postponed/made up during the subsequent bye).
We beat #1 Bama, and our only two losses came to two ranked teams (by a combined 8 points).
We didn’t suck that year, nor did we beg for validation. So I’m not sure what your dismissive “Sure, Jan” attitude is about, as if we were cellar dwellers.
Apart from your already routine matchup vs OU, y’all have played one SEC opponent. You may finish with killer results; at this point, who knows? But how ‘bout you enjoy the season and let it play out rather than worrying about what people say?

What does it say about Texas when they were in a lesser league but didn’t rule it? You may win the while thing but you only are buying it.
Dummy. If you think through what you just wrote - you are saying Texas either didn't, or should have, cheated.
Why didn't we buy everything before genius? Because we didn't cheat.
Now all the sudden what's wrong with OU and Bama? You can't cheat.

Sounds to me like you're not assimilating into the SEC very well.
"assimilating" into the SEC means bend over and worship Bama, LSU, and take all the verbal demeaning BS that comes our way.
Dream on, porch monkeys. No. We're not assimilating. We're Texas.
I know you little people don't get it, but your suits wanted to make more money. That's why we're here. We bring the bucks.
We're Texas. You're not. Get past all this, quit pounding your chest, and we'll be just fine.

At the end of 2012, A&M was the best team in CFB.
And you know what - that was also another tremendous Aggie joke. If you hadn't left the Big XII, Texas A&M would have won the national championship that year.
It's amazing how y'all do it to yourselves usually as a result of bitterness - but you damn sure would have been the National Champions that year but for once again doing it to yourselves in the name of gigging Texas.

Calm down, MtVernon. You're doing just fine at assimilating. It's your brother, VYForever, that needs a little talk in the preacher's office. You, personally, have been very gracious and have been wearing your deserved swagger with aplomb. Your brother, however, seems to walk around with a bag full of candy and a full diaper.

I know. Y'all tried to warn us.
So now with us here, you can't just sit back and talk about how great your conference is, while Texas sucks and plays grab fanny in the Big XII. We took that whole con game away - and yes Aggies did try to warn you.
Don't invite Texas, they will come over and the jig will be up.
Get better at football people. Or go back to Nascar.

Texas A&M University no more left the B12 to gig Texas than UTex left the B12 to hook Kansas.
It was a a multivariate decision that wasn't entered into lightly.
We left a sinking ship to affiliate with the best conference.
But you know that.

Fine. Then you are aware I can be reasonable when we are all shooting straight with each other.
But I can't do the one-way street thing anymore. I can 3rd grade just as good as the next idiot.

It was Longhorn Network. The straw that broke the camel's back. As if A&M would turn down ESPN given the same offer.
Again - the silent part just got said out loud.

Why the revisionist history? There’s zero need to be disingenuous.
Texas A&M University left an unstable situation in the B12 to affiliate with the nation’s premier athletic conference. It was a decision the university had long wanted to make.
The rationale was a no brainer. And while getting away from UTex was a definite plus, the reasons why we left were far more tangible: Increased exposure on a more national stage; better recruiting opportunities; superior conference partners; real fan experiences; improved TV contract and viewing opportunities; greater tradition; a more professional environment; increased revenue; stellar marketing; improved travel opportunities.
Literally everything was better in the SEC (yet we were raked over the coals by B12 folks when we left).
I’ve said my peace. Good luck the rest of the way.
