Just left the floor on a stretcher in a neck brace after trying to walk off.

Holy shite. My best friend had a neck injury when we were kids that was 0.01 cm away from paralyzing him. I'm praying for her, her life is a lot more important than a game.
Really classy, idiot.

This young woman is from Australia and doesn't have family here. One can be confident LSU will take care of her, but the team's stars need to step up and watch out for her. In a game against Auburn, I saw Ms Poa about as exhausted as a player can be, so she is a tough player and I hope she comes through.

That sucks. Hope she is okay.

The medical staff for the game should all be fired.

I agree. How do you have a player with obvious neuro symptoms trying to walk off the court? You could see her legs buckling the whole time.

Someone with a head injury shouldn't be moved are allowed to try and get up without proper precautions. These yahoos didn't follow any of the things they should have been trained for.

Her head bounced off the floor

Nobody did anything. The ref was right there, I guess they weren't paying attention. The trainers/coaches took forever to even come on the court and check on her. The players tried to pick her up and help her.
It's was really a shite response all around and I blame our own staff more than anyone.
I'd be infuriated if I was Poa's family.
With as much emphasis as they are putting on head injuries in sports, it seems like nobody had a clue as to what to do and just sort of stood around.

Watching that video, the way she hit the court and the way she automatically grabbed her head, I suspect a concussion.. And I am a somewhat drunk redneck with nothing more than first aid and cpr training watching it on a phone. I hate that the refs and medical personnel there flubbed it so bad. Not surprised. But I still hate it.

I have limited first aid training and even know that. Scary

Good news she does have a concussion but has movement throughout her body and is being released from the hospital tonight.

Scary. That's good news though.
That was a whiplash smack of the head on the floor. Had to do damage

It happens right in front of the ref and he just walks away

On an insignificant note, LSU can barely field a team tomorrow and have another game in less than 24 hours from end of this game.
