For the Bama fans who go back a few years, this one is a killer:
For those of us who go back even more, this one gets to me in a special way. One of the greatest comebacks of all time, negated by a boneheaded official's call:

And let's be honest here. Sapakoff is hated by Clemson and Carolina fans equally. Gene is absolutely retarded.

Had Chavis not given up 40ppg those 4 yrs with the players UT had on defense, Peyton may have had a chance.

It's not like that INT was going to all of a sudden make LSU's offense suck less than it did.
Maybe not, but as the last two LSU/Bama games in Death Valley showed, you really only need one good drive to win a game...
I don't think there was any "cheating" or conspiring" involved by Alabama, because that is kind of ridiculous.
But I do think it was just a bad call by the refs, and they felt that they couldn't overturn it without a shadow of a doubt.
The Micheal Williams play was an incredible play by Reid and was the correct call. The still shots don't show the ball moving around in William's hands while he was hitting the ground.

peterson caught it with 2 hands with both feet in. i just cant argue the call. i see more argument out of the williams/reid play. meh, moot point. but thats what makes sports fun- "ifs", "buts", debates, opinions.

I'm not even a fan of Peyton, and I've never been accused of being a UT fan, but that pisses me off to this day.

That Penn St. game was one of the first Bama games I remember watching as a kid. I can still remember my dad yelling at the TV set.

I don't recall seeing the picture of the UF lineman blocking his own guy in this particular thread but I'm surprised that one has not been done by Gator fans yet.

Yeah, that one put me over the edge even though the Kick 6 and Cam ones contributed to me getting there. There's no better demonstration of Auburn luck than that one play.
Edit: Well...maybe not. The tip in the UGA/AU game in '13 was probably a better demonstration.

Yeah, I remember that one as a 6 year old kid as well. One of my first of many memories of heartbreak as a Bama fan. I probably went and played GI Joes and got over it pretty quick though, unlike when I was older.
