Warmack is the best guard on the team (with Barrett Jones at left tackle) and you don't even mention him? Wtf is the matter with you? The guy is a truck.

You're not even considering that he leaves?

1) Gets to play with his brother another year
2) Comes from a well off family
3) Guards aren't a hot commodity position
4) Dedicated student(Accounting Major)
I just don't see him leaving...

I tend to doubt any of that would be set in stone, considering only skels are going on. Things will change several times during fall camp, before a starting five is decided.

I think he'll battle Barrett Jones for the Center job next year...
Thanks for the info. I know his dad and I know Chad has been working really hard and is in way better shape than he was in high school.
There are lots of people in a couple of different states following and pulling for him.
His parents were really impressed with the way Tuscaloosa and the University were there for Chad and the other students when the tornadoes hit. They were very relieved when they heard from him afterwards.

I graduated with Steen and played ball with him every down in high school. You guys got a great one, and I wouldn't judge him from the iron bowl. The kid is a beast. He told me this summer, himself, that he made a bad read on that play against Fairley. I hope he ends up getting the nod to start. Good luck to you guys this season.

Thanks. I'm so much more confident now that I know that sack was because he didn't know wtf he was doing on the field.
Hopefully he's got his shite together this go around. It won't take a Nick Fairley type to make that kind of highlight reel play if he keeps that up.

Seriously shut the Hell up. Steen has all the qualities a OG needs. He just needs the experience now. He's going to be a quality RG for Alabama. Considering the level of competition he played in the MPSA at Pillow Academy, it's taken him a little longer to adjust to the SEC. Yet, he's still only going to be a sophomore.

He could win the job, but I don't think it happens out the gate. That being said, Alabama has had success with freshman LTs in the last ten years with Wes Britt in 2001 and Andre Smith in 2006. And if I remember correctly, Chris Samuels was a freshman starting LT in 1996.

Like I said before your panties got all pretzeled up, I was really high on Steen when he committed. I remember telling people he was going to be a total sleeper on the OL for us. Eating those words as he invited Nick Fairley right in the front door was something I don't care to relive again.
If he's got it together, excellent. I'll enjoy watching him do what I expected him to do in the first place. If I have to sit there and see him whiff on DTs all season long, I won't be to eager about his participation.
Again, it's a situation where I think we have better options at the moment. If Saban and Stoutland don't agree...that's fine. They're the ones getting paid to make the "organizational groupings" or whatever it is they want to call it this year.

I just think that its ridiculous that you are judging this kid on one single play.
