East Pod 1 and Pod 2
West Pod 3 and Pod 4

Division accounts for 7 games. Cross division adds 3 games. OOC adds 2 games. 10 SEC games, an appropriate OOC and a cupcake. Make 1 of the 3 cross division games a fixed rivalry game if you want.

Pod 1 Uof SC, Florida, Auburn, UGA
Pod 2 Vandy, Mizzou, UK, Tennessee
Pod 3 LSU, Ole Miss, Miss St, Bama
Pod 4 Texas, OU, Arky, TAMU

Natural regional pods in natural regional divisions.

In any case, 10 SEC game schedule would be great for fans.

Not necessarily. As I gave an example to OilFieldBiology, his idea would change DSOR to being every other year. I highly doubt that'll be acceptable to many fans.

What if Auburn's +1 was Florida. DSOR is no longer annual
. Not saying I’m for it and my UGA brethren will give me hell for it but I gave up the DSOR in my pod format. It would be played every other year. Long term it’s better for the conference and schedule rotation. Would love to find a way to make it work, Just haven’t seen one presented yet that is fair and equitable to ALL teams.

I already think the Bama/AU/UT pod is a death blow for one of AU or UT to drop out of the Big 6. That would probably be UT at this point

& what about UGA-GT, Florida-FSU, SC-Clemson, & Kentucky-UL?
That leaves us with only 1 game to freely schedule while the rest have 2? Don't think so.

So your brilliant idea is to have the deep south's longest consecutive games played rivalry being every other year?

How is a pod of LSU, Miss State, Ole Miss, Texas A&M fair to everyone? That pod is a joke. One trip to Atlanta combined from State, Ole Miss and A&M.

Texas A&M is gonna be hot garbage if Texas joins the SEC.

The pod system is no more even than 3 + 6.

I allowed for a fixed cross division rival. Barn vs Bama would make sense for that game

Hince why I was saying how my format kept pretty much rivalry being played annually.

I’m case you haven’t noticed this Rivalry looks a lot like Bama vs UT right now. You sure you want to keep getting spanked every year by two big brothers?

This "pod system" is such BS. So we are going to have a two team tournament to decide who the SECC is...................then we go into an expanded playoff tourney? Exactly how many games do you expect these college kids play?

I’m not lying when I tell you at some point next week I’m going to want to see the spreadsheet for this format. I would love to keep the DSOR. But 10 conference games is a non-starter for multiple teams ((UGA/UF/UK/USC). We have cross conference-rivals none of us are willing to give up.

Using that logic......why didn't you run and hide during the first 100+ years of the rivalry? It sounds like you are scared. Kirby had Gus' number. Gus is no longer here.

How is the pod system any different than divisions? It still determines who goes to the SECCG.

do the math.

Two divisions.....each division champ plays for SECC

four pods.........the SECCG has teams who have played an extra game just to get there...........then more than likely both will be playing in the tourney.........after playing one more game than every other team in the tourney.

Because the other pods are

Bama, auburn, UTenn, and Vandy
OU, UT, Missouri, Arkansas
UF, UGA, Kentucky, USCe

It’s absolutely a fair pod, it makes sense geographically, and makes sense rivalry wise for the most part.

The only rivalry games that get mixed are DSOR and battle for the boot (not real and certainly not on the level of UGA/Barn)

That's why I'm against 10 games. As I stated in another post, the 4 of us with in-state ACC rivals will use that as Game 11. Leaving us with only 1 open slot while the rest have 2.

I don't have a spreadsheet, but it's pretty much simple to figure out because everybody has 6 of the 9 game slots filled out. Those last 3 spots are whatever other pod your pod is joined with that year (AB & CD, AC & BD, or AD & BC).

& that extra CG applies to ALL conferences. Heck, B12 had a full round-robin schedule that DIDN'T NEED the CG to determine their conference winner.

So, I'm still lost how this is unfair against any other conference out there.

so all conferences will go to a pod system? Again, I thought UGA people are supposed to be smart.

This is some of the dumbest shite I have seen. Do you honestly think the SEC office is going to put their top schools at a detriment to others in the nation? That will be one extra game and one less week to prepare for the tourney for multiple SEC schools.

With the expanded playoff, more than likely both teams who play in the SECCG are in the tourney. Also, there is a very good chance one more SEC team makes the tourney...............possibly two.
