Alabama is literally 2 plays away from being undefeated whereas Tennessee got its arse kicked in its 2 losses. Plus losing their star QB doesn’t help matters.

Bama is also two plays away from 8-4.

I despise that moronic argument

I don’t think you can extrapolate injuries forward… you can mitigate an earlier loss when key players were out though.

They’re two plays from having 4 losses too. Blows my mind people think that way. They fricking lost to Tennessee heads up. They should be behind Alabama.

Correct, but 2 losses by a combined 3 points looks a lot better than 2 losses where one got its shite pushed in, one of which by an unranked team where they gave up 60 fricking points.

Alabama almost lost to TEXAS and Texas AM on the last play of game. They could have 2 loses just as easy as two wins. You can play it one way" they almost won " 2 games. It goes both ways.

Also , to Answer the OP question. The committee looks at everything, including the loss of your starting QB . Example TN. Without Hooker they probably a 7-5 team

Alabama had their backup QB play the ENTIRE game against A&M and the dude had 3 TOs and a RB had a 4th and they still won. No one ever brings up Bryce being out when they try to hold that game against Bama.

Who ever thought a Hooker would be so valuable?

The good ole Baws sit around and look at everything. Who won who lost who had players hurt, everything. They want the best games they can match up.
The fact Vols lost their star qb hurts much more than if they had lost a second string Rb.
They want the best games possible.

You don’t want Bama in. You better hope that there isn’t a couple of the right teams losing Saturday.

At this point in time they are better than us. But we beat them on the field, what’s the point of playing the games then? Might as well put Bama ahead of TCU because Alabama is better on paper than them too. The complete inconsistency in the committees logic is horrendous.

Why is this so hard to understand? They didn't just lose but were EMBARRASSED by an unranked sc team with what 5 losses? And they lost their qb. Simple as that. Bama loss was close

Over all rankings has UT #2 and Bama #3 in the official overall conference standings.

*South Carolina team with more top ten wins than Georgia, and also beat Tennessee much more handily than Georgia. Since we’ve learned on the field no longer matters South Carolina > Georgia
