Playoff Committee Needs to Clarify Goal

If the goal is "the four most deserving teams", cool. Do that every year. And if that's the criteria, then Bama wouldn't deserve a spot in the playoffs this season.
If the goal is "the four best teams in America", cool. Then that would likely be OSU, LSU, Clemson, and Bama.
Either way, if their spokesperson/committee chair would provide that point of clarification, it would save the talking heads a great deal of speculation.

At some point, to be considered one of the "four best teams," you should have to have some kind of objective accomplishment.

The best teams don't go down by 20 in the first half and rely on trick plays, busted coverages, and prayer onside kicks to have a chance

Agree, but you play the schedule. Clemson will likely go unbeaten having played no one. How many other teams - yours included - could go unbeaten playing their schedule?
Also, accomplishments and negatives all should be weighed. For example, if a team is 11-1 but their starting QB is injured for season, does that team really have a fair shot at the NC? Or if a team is 11-1 and they have 1 top 25 win but their loss was to an unranked team, do they get viewed same way as a team with 1 top 25 win and a loss to a top 5/10 team? Those types of nuance matter, I'd think.

Well the team woke up Sunday morning and was still called Alabama, so there's that. We're not royalty for nothing you know.

Do the best teams give up a 20 point half time lead?
I think LSU is easily one of the two best teams in the country (along with OSU). But if you don't think Bama is a top 4 team, then what does it say that your team let them fight back into the game like that?
Also, I don't recall any trick plays or busted coverages. I saw a running game come around, and I saw Smith beat his man repeatedly, but even that wasn't enough. LSU was the better team and won the game. Their QB is crazy legit, locked up the Heisman, and probably the #1 overall pick. But let's not claim things happened that didn't.

Are you saying Alabama has accomplished nothing this season? Because I agree that Alabama has accomplished nothing this season.

You can't be one of the best without a resume

You already won one National Championship without having played in the SEC title game. Had that not happened already and had Bama not been in the playoff every year, then you might have a chance. However, You will need some losses in the Big 12 and the PAC 12 to have a shot. 1 loss champions in those leagues are in over an SEC-less Bama

Sure, but Alabama has control of 4 games. They knew that this year's East rotation was unlikely to be particularly daunting and chose to go with 1 neutral site game against Duke anyway. That shouldn't be rewarded.

Probably several, but they are the team that is likely to actually do so. They also at least made a reasonable attempt to make up for it OOC, even if A&M and USCe don't appear to be particularly strong.

Wut? You can argue Bama is not even in the top 4 of SEC teams this year.

Well to start with, we ran no trick plays. Busted coverage is on your team, just like they were on ours.
We got beat, but if you weren’t scared shitless at the end of the game, your coaches and players were. You should learn something from them.
