I grew up in the south but I've also lived in colder climates up north. People up north aren't sitting around in shorts. They wear many layers and a ton of clothes. They are probably warmer in general than people in the south. I had no idea the amount of clothes people wore. I use to run around -10 weather and never felt a bit of real cold.
