Didn't realize my use of the word intellect would get you so riled up, or was it the Nick Marshall part.
Doesn't matter, all the same.

I still think he will get Arky back to a 7-8 win per year team. But I admit that I am losing confidence by the week.
No one expected us to beat the national runners up on the road in game 1. What is making you lose confidence week by week?

Did not honor ban bet, you are a pussy.

...and look at what a coaching did to change that. That is the point that people keep trying to drive into you hog fans heads.
What role did the accumulation of talent over the previous 4-5 years play?

bert is in wayyyyyyyy over his head in this league.
Do you have next week's lotto numbers? This remains to be seen.

A coach, you hog fans say you would never want, comes in and turns a zero win SEC team into SEC Champs his first year. Yet you defend a coach who has yet to win an SEC game.
Probably because we're built, as humans, to be capable of intelligent thought.
Or, in 2006, would you have said Avery Johnson is a better coach than Greg Popovich just because the Mavericks got to the finals & the Spurs didn't?
It's called living in a vacuum. Remove the parts and just focus on the aggregate? Sure - I can see how someone that was that narrow-minded would draw these shortsighted conclusions about Bielema's coaching worth.
But if you actually look at the circumstances and not just the outcomes, it's BLATANTLY OBVIOUS that the two situations were absolutely, positively without comparison. Period.
Bert may very well fail. But anytime anyone says that he will, and they state it as a fact, I just assume that person is a mouth-breathing, stereotypical Southern simpleton incapable of that previously mentioned intelligent thought.

How much further will it setback the football program with Bert as coach?
I say it's at least couple years after he is fired.
bert's "three yards and a cloud of dust" philosophy died out in this league years ago. It is going to be fun to watch. I am interested in how many years the hog fans will keep defending him.

Gladius Veritas is Jeff Long?
Jeff, you need to be working out the final details on the beer contract that will be served at the stadium and let us know.

What has given you pause, exactly? What you saw on Saturday? Or the ancillary bullshite (shiny object) that the rest of these guys seem to be infatuated with (they mad)?

quote:It wasn't that Arky lost the game. I expected that. I can't get my head around how things were so different between the first half and second half of last week's game, how the running game was so easily abandoned, or how the defense doesn't appear to have improved at all.
What is making you lose confidence week by week?
Couple that with his remarks that seem designed to provide a diversion or an excuse and part of me wonders if the crowd that thinks he was a bad fit or is in over his head is right.

I agree. After seeing the push the OL got against you guys, can't wait what to see what a full Bielema line can do

Chaney called good plays. The problem was that the execution wasn't good. Yeah some of that is on the coaches but it wasn't like they just abandoned the running game just because.

uh you guys are pretty good on offense... let's wait until we play some more games before saying that

The thing is......you obviously didn't watch the game. Our DL was getting great push in the first half. They were getting such a great push they were over shooting the ball carrier. In the second half, our DL just filled their gaps at the line of scrimmage and waited for the ball carrier.
