After the loss, this is what you call leadership. Morris would've cried and then went home to Dallas to spend time with his wife and son.

"No matter what happened, the outcome was the outcome and we can’t change it," Pittman said. "Even if there was a mistake made, even if whatever, we can’t change it. I never spoke to our team one time in the locker room about officiating, not once and will not today. It is what it is. We’re 1-2 instead of 2-1 and we have to go play a heck of an Ole Miss team. I’m not going to mention it to them because what good is it going to do? So we’re going to leave it at that."

To his credit, Pittman declined to place blame on the officials.

"Usually we'll send in five to six plays to look at and I think it was probably about what we sent in this week," Pittman said. "Some of them were alignments on our punt team. Were we too deep and we were on some of those as well. There was some new kids in there. We have to coach them up and things of that nature.

"Yes, I have heard from head of the officials and I'm at peace with it. I don't really know what to say. I don't want to go into it, but I heard from the head of the officials and I understand what happened now. So we'll move forward on it, but I'm disappointed in the outcome. I can tell you that."

Pittman said the important thing was to keep working and moving forward.

"I haven’t been around the team. Their day off is Sunday," Pittman said. "But again, I truly believe that our players will react like we do. We’re going to show the good, the bad and the ugly today, learn from our mistakes, get better from our mistakes. We’ve got a lot of work to do. A lot of work to do and we didn’t tackle well. We didn’t play special teams well. We didn’t start the game well on offense. Those things, we have to get those things fixed to win an SEC football game and that’s what we’re going to go after today."

Bold take. How brave to go out on such a limb.

Thank you.

I meant as a person in general. We know he's obviously the better coach.

Not sure who you are expecting to nab with this one. I think that's pretty much a given.

Nobody really. It's just nice to have a coach that cares about the program that isn't Fat Bert or Chode Morris.

Bert would have been an insufferable bitch about this all year if it happened to him. Chard would have found a way to blame it on the players. Pittman just moves on and keeps the focus on getting better.

Old school discipline and fundamental concepts will still win a lot of games.

I do not understand Ark fans, they should be use to letting old coaches go and moving on. They have had to do it so often lately, you would think they would forget about the past. With Chizik, we welcomed him with open arms in the same town and with TT, we are about to elect him to the Senate. Even Bama fan don't talk bad about Shula or Dubose.

Tuberville, Dubose, Shula, and Chizik all fricked off and went somewhere else. Out of sight out of mind. Our coaches tend to go to other SEC West schools and continue to be thorns in our side.
