Let me just summarize your responses

"Yes we suck, we know it, and will admit it to others. But the future is going to be much brighter because an amazing influx of capital is going to come out of nowhere and not only remain after the newness of the SEC wears off, but continue growing over time. All this money has been sitting around we are just now deciding to try to get it. Our poor athletic department says nothing about our fan's passion."

ETA: Honestly, I think it is good for the SEC if it happens, but I just don't see these projections meeting expectations of some Missouri fans.

Trying to compare AA to MLB draw is dumb. 4.7M attended Royals and Cardinals games last year. If those teams were gone, and only 10% of those people are big enough baseball fans to attend the next best product, Mizzou would lead the NCAA in attendance last year. It is not so much a finite amount of loyalty as a finite amount of time and money. Most people can only attend so many games and buy so many tickets. MLB gets both in Missouri.

Being in the 20's on anything in the SEC in most cases means you rank about 10 to 14 in the conference.

I know it wasn't that way in the big 12 but get you better get used to it.

What do the teams that have good attendance in the SEC like LSU, OM, USCe, and Arky have in common? No MLB competition could be a possible answer.

But as you know Missouri has many more people than states like Arkansas or Mississippi. Mississippi has two teams that can attract 10k crowds. I know the Cards are a big deal and Royals are well, there, but being halfway between 2 large cities should allow Mizzou to have at least decent attendance at baseball. It's not like if you're a MLB fan you can't go see your yankee Tigers play too.

Yeah, the MLB season is LONG, and SEC baseball starts really early.

Comparing MLB to AA is justifiable, considering the population each market draws from.

And Mizzou is a larger school, too.

I think y'all will start to care about college baseball in the SEC once you are exposed to it more.

Example 1:

Arkansas #5 in the nation.

3rd in the SEC West.

Hopefully, but it will only be long term if we field a better team. Winning breeds attendance.

They are not much father behind us, I'm not sure why you are talking so much shite to them over this mid week baseball win. They don't seem like they are doing anything to deserve it or egg it on.

Point is other conferences use "we are in the top 25 in ___" as something to be proud of and in the SEC it means nothing because your opponents are always above you until you're #1. A Missouri poster used the earlier phrasing.

Umm, there are other threads if you aren't interested in what's going on in this one. Which happens to be titled very clearly about a midweek baseball game.

The people that aren't going to Cards/Royals games are watching it on tv. The popularity of the Cardinals in Missouri cannot be downplayed.

Since I'm an Arkansas fan I am interested in our game thread. I responded to you because I noticed you were talking a lot of shite about this win. As a hog fan here I get stereotyped as some delusional shite talker, because of an influx of stuff like this. It makes it hard to carry on any decent conversation. So making it known that I disagree with what you are saying should help me out in the long run. Especially if we lose tomorrow and these guys come to make you eat your crow.

And what do you happen to be referring to? Me making fun of Missouri's shitty baseball team because they lost to Arkansas? Not going to happen

Agreed, this thread just ended up being an Arky-Mizzou flame fest. It's just hard not to get sucked in sometimes.

Hell getting called a yank when I'm from South Carolina always sticks in my craw, especially when the people I've met from Arkansas and Missouri are generally very similar. Whatever, I guess I just need to let it go

I didn't bring it up. I was just pointing out that "top 25" sounds cute but is meaningless in the SEC. Please refresh me on your point of view regarding how awesome something is if it ranks in the top 25 of some list.
