Close. I was born in Eufaula. But God was looking out for me, so I grew up in Tennessee.

Live about halfway between Phenix City and Auburn now.

A shame about the Smith Station mayor. You live north of Dudley Lumber on 431>

OP won't be on that list. The Alabama city directly across the river from Columbus, Georgia is Phenix City, Alabama which shares it's name and spelling with a large mill in that existed in Columbus when the city was incorporated.

Give that man a cigar even though the City has muddled things by adopting the Phoenix Bird as a symbol

It’s 28 miles from Auburn and has a large amount of Bama people as well.
The Mayor is Eddie Lowe former Bama stud. His brother Woodrow coached at Central and was Bama All American.
The area is Auburn, Alabama and Georgia mixed.
13th Street BBQ will rival anyone in this country.

Actually a lot of military families who are/were stationed at Ft. Benning live in Phenix City or Russell County so it plays bigger than 40,000. So far I have found more on the rant than I expected

So a large transient population like a college town is it the size of the residents or should you also count the number of students who are only there for like eight months .

Not getting into the military aspect here
