I have one 600lb feeder on my property and it’s placed near the center of the tract. All my neighbors feed religiously. With the 600lb hopper, I am able to fill it up and it last a few months, to keep disturbance low.

With that said, I feed corn to inventory the herd through cameras. I know the bucks only show up at night, I get that. I also like having a cheat code to dust a few nanny’s throughout the year, whether for me or my kids. If I see a mature buck at my feeder, he followed a doe there during the rut.

I have other stands set up to play the wind and hunt bucks.

I actually think it ends not this coming week but the next. Democrats don’t want to end before the Virginia election so their democrat government workers vote, thy don’t want it to look like the reason so they won’t vote to open wed-fri. So it will go on until the following week. Has to end before Thanksgiving.

The senate is scheduled in recess November 10-14 (next week), so if nothing passes between Nov 3-7 (coming week) the soonest end is Nov 17th.

Funny story related the Poarch Creeks and their Casino along the Tallapoosa River. The owner of that land knew there was a burial ground in the floodplain. He donated the mound and the footprint of the casino to the Poarch so they could legally have a gambling operation under state law, but still owns the parking lot and the roads leading to it. Those are leased.
I was looking at gun.deals this morning and some of the “hot” deals were not in stock anymore.

I did find a 17L for $483 before shipping.

You could buy the Yeti 20 off eBay. I had one stolen from me and I miss it all the time.

We had to sneak in all the flasks and minis for the brothers at football games while we were pledges. If you were a douche, you got your drink dick stirred in the bathroom.

Depending on where you located, in conjunction with your end goals for the property/timber…you should consider NRCS cost sharing programs.

You jump in my vessel like that, the least you’re getting is the bait knife. I may get my arse beat but you’re going to have to whoop my arse every time you see me or I see you at the ramp.
Good looking pup. Do you have anyone else with dogs that would let you tag along on a hunt or train together? Would be good to have him share the woods with other working dogs.

So I’ve had a few of those guns, kinda. I had a SX3 with roughly 2k rounds of duck loads and skeet/dove through it. It got dirty towards the end of its life and I pretty much had to have to shoot high velocity rounds to get anything to cycle. I did pay for it to be professionally cleaned once and that helped but was back at it approx. 200 rounds after said cleaning. On the SX3/4, you really need to focus on the “gas block” and the tiny vent hole in the barrel where that block sits. Overall 7/10, great gun. Mine was a 28” 12ga.

I also have owned the Franchi Affinity. This gun was hella reliable but I was a young buck and did not care for it like I should have and it started to fall apart on me towards the end of its life. Still give it a 6.5-7/10. 26” 12ga

Right now I have a Rob Robert’s M2 20 ga 26”. This gun is freaking nice. 10/10 but understand that it’s custom. Would recommend the M2 as it point fantastic and is as light as a feather. Can shoot a turkey 50 yards all day with TSS.

Lastly, I have a SBE3 12ga 26”. I mainly duck hunt with it and honestly it doesn’t get used much. It’s a great gun but even it will struggle to cycle without some good cleaning after shooting dirtier loads. 7/10.

If your top dollar is $2k, I’d buy an M2 and send it to Rob Robert’s for trigger work or forcing cone at a minimum.

Also remember that American made guns point on and European guns you aim low because they shoot high. It’s all about “shot window”. Maybe that’s something to consider for you.

24 pounds is INSANE!

When I first grabbed him I knew he was heavy but after walking out the first 100 yards and having to swap arms several times, I came to to conclusion I was old and out of shape, and this bird was hefty. My buddy hunts about 10 minutes from me and I knew he had a scale. I had to know what he weighed. I honestly have never weighed any previous turkeys before this one.

I’m going to commemorate by getting a matching set of wing bone calls made.

Killed him at 15 steps at 11:00 on the nose. He is the heaviest bird I’ve ever taken at 24 lbs 11 oz according to my hunting partners fish scale he keeps in his tool box. 1 3/16” and 1” spurs. 10” beard. Good luck to all this season!

I have a white truck where the roof is balding and flaking. I’ve often wondered if it’d be worth it to wrap it instead of paint.
