To be honest, I was impressed with Finley's raw ability. His arm strength is insane and his touch is pretty good. He has freshman issues, obviously, but you can see some good stuff there if he's in the right hands to develop it.

He is a good QB. He has the arm talent and he does well reading defenses. He definitely needs some work though. He needs a much better O-Line because he is just so immobile back there. He can also be pretty inaccurate, which has lead to interceptions and dropped balls. He also has no tough on the short 5 yard routes across the middle, they should be easy catches but they are not for us... I certainly like Finley more than Johnson from what I have seen. Johnson has some of the worst pocket presence I have ever seen in my life.

I've read a lot of LSU people acting like Johnson is light years ahead of Finley and it made me wonder if I was watching the same games as them? Like you said, Johnson bails at the first tinge of pressure, and his passing tools don't seem to be nearly what Finley's are.

Finley is definitely super raw, but having a young, raw kid with a bad pass blocking offensive line is just a nightmare scenario. I thought that in games where they had a good plan for him and LSU was able to give him time (early Alabama, Arkansas, South Carolina) he looked like a kid who could be a really good QB.

In his defense, I read that he has been playing hurt most of the year.

Aww shucks.

Also.. shite. Tyrique needs some serious work. 85.7% completion rate on passes sent his way. Yikes.

Now go back add in the yards where Bama players were holding onto jerseys or interfering and see how low they go.
