Actually we just want to see the Ark fall out and then the subsequent Auburn fall out if Malzahn took the Auburn job
^^ This =

I could care less whether Petrino takes the UF job or not. LSU has to face him every year regardless.

You do realise how Petrio left the Atlanta Falcons, right? Notes in lockers....didn't even address the team or phone the players.
That bastard.
You know how Petrino left war memorial stadium?
Watching players carry the boot to the bus.

but I honestly hadn't seen that photo.
It was on the Sports Page of the AJC the day after he left. FWIW, Lawyer Milloy is the one that crossed his name out and wrote Coward

Yeah, of course I do. I don't really care, though.
Not to beat an old, dead, and buried horse, but my take on that was: They're grown arse men and professional athletes (making at least hundreds of thousands and mostly millions)...I think they can deal.
The weird position for me, is that I'm also a Falcons fan, and honestly, it couldn't have worked out better as far as I'm concerned. Mike Smith's a better fit, they got Matt Ryan after that season, and now things are looking up.

I agree. But that doesnt change the fact that Petrino took the cowards way out and I will always hate him for it.

Unless he happens to do the same thing to Arkansas. Don't think it would happen, but you never know.

Well, I would split hairs here because these are college athletes. If he left notes in the lockers of kids whose moms and dads he spoke with about coming to play at Arkansas, I'd have a problem with that.
If he leaves, though, I absolutely can't blame him. Hell, I wouldn't really blame him if he had to pull a Brian Kelly and leave before the Sugar Bowl. It'd suck for the team, but recruiting is important, and now would be the time to do damage control after Meyer's bad timing (he should've waiting until after the bowl, IMO).

Hell yeah. We have very few on this site.

This could be the year, man. The NFC is down and Atlanta's playing as well as anyone.

so grown arse man don't need to be treated with respect?

If the definition of respect is "Have a coach most of the team hated personally come in and say what he wrote in the note in the most monotone voice ever," then no, I don't necessarily think they deserved that.
The fact was, that Petrino in Atlanta was a bad fit. The players didn't like him. He didn't like the situation (especially after Vick went to the pen).
Any way he went about leaving that team to take the Arkansas job before the season ended was going to be ridiculed.
Is it the way I would've handled it? No. But I don't think it makes him the shittiest person on the planet, either.

Only because some are saying that Petrino will not take the job if offered. That I find laughable.
You should just write those people off as idiots. And nobody should fault him for leaving for Florida if he does choose too.

You must not watch enough ESPN, then.

Oh, right. Yeah, the Saints are the prime team in the NFC.

i don't think people are saying that. but it should at least give you pause about what he says to the Arkie brass and fans. he flat out lied to the ATL brass up until the midnight hour. now some of that comes with the business, but at least you have to see the chance of him telling y'all one thing while working out contract details with florida.

No question about it. I won't feel "comfortable" that he's not interested in the job until somebody else is announced as Florida's new coach.
But that's not exclusive to Petrino. I'd feel that way regardless of who our coach was (with a few exceptions). As you said, some of that comes with the business.
