Verne won't be appreciated by most until he's gone. He's a legend and is at an age where he wont be doing this much longer. When the time comes CBS could very well stick some woman announcer in his place. Be careful what you wish for.

Verne is a little senile, but he has a great voice and enthusiasm.
I love Gary. He can be annoying, but he is great.

From what I've seen the people hating on Gary are the ones with thin skin who throw a temper tantrum when someone says anything critical of their team. Mostly those who stopped mentally maturing at around 16.

I think whoever came up with this petition is a fricking idiot. CBS is hands down the best college football experience out there. Verne and Gary are BY FAR the best in the business.
Nessler and Blackledge are pretty damn solid as well but CBS compared to ESPN are like night and day.
Everything about ESPN is what has ruined College Football with their shitty cookie cutter production.. shitty music... and shitty not even hearing the crowd noise at a football game

I am not a SEC homer by any means but those CBS games give me goosebumps. You SEC fans should feel proud to have this broadcast every Saturday. To me, it's what College Football is all about
