Frank Solich did a good job there. He won 9+ game 5 of the 7 years he was the coach and got them to a National Title game. Solich was the first D1 head coach to be fired after a 9 win season without any scandal or NCAA violations.
Bo Pellini was solid as well. He never had under 9 wins his 7 years there. They fired him basically because he was mean to everyone.
In the 12 years since firing Pellini, they've only won 9 games once.
