Define affiliation, but most likely better than 50%. Like Clemson/SC.

I dont condone shite talking but its retarded to say only people that graduated from BAMA can root for the football team. I graduated from BAMA btw. How can alumni of UA police who chooses to root for BAMA?? Doesnt make sense.

I'd say a good 95% from personal experience.

Based on the numbers of students that have attended the University, that would mean Alabama has well over 10 million fans.

If we thought Texas had a lot of t-shirt fans, then we are in for a rude awakening when we come across all these bright Bama and LSU fans

There is not a school in the SEC outside of Vandy where the majority of its fans are alumni or even have a college degree from anywhere.

You think Alabama fans are annoying because you are a USCe fan living in Alabama. I'm an Alabama graduate and hated Ole Miss fans when I lived in Mississippi.

I love these threads and how people show a certain touchy side

No, I didn't go to Auburn. Doesn't mean I'm not a huge fan, and have been all my life, but there's a certain element of being a student at the school that if you didn't go, you'll never understand.

As a matter of fact, I don't know if 10% of the people I've met in Mobile have even gone to ANY type of college/university.

Ha you poor. You live in the ghetto.

How do you go about gaining affiliation for professional teams?

I never worked for the Saints and I haven't lived in NOLA for 28 years. Can I still cheer for the Saints?

Also, let's say I'm a Penn State fan and I'm so disgusted by the Sandusky stuff that I've decided I want to cheer for South Carolina now. Do y'all like send out special emails to keep non graduates away? Are the non-alumni such blights on the school that you don't accept them.

I have never understood this argument and never will. It's arrogant, ignorant, and just plain stupid. Why wouldn't you want more fans?

BTW, I have two degrees from UA. I grow tired of the Bammer act at times, but it comes with the territory.

Your a Cock though and wouldn't have any idea about the territory we hang out in.

Why do you have to attend the university to be a fan? I'm a big LSU fan and never went to LSU, but lived in BR all my life. But I will agree with you, lots of sidewalk gumps out there.

Most of the guys I work with are retired Navy. Those that work under us are mostly skilled laborers that require a GED if that.

So you spend all day hanging out with GED rednecks who are Bama fans since they are from Alabama and you decided to exaggerate them to being 95% of the Alabama fan base. I'm guessing you have a GED yourself.

A lot, One thought he made fun of me yesterday at my job. He saw me studying for my final, and asked where I went to school, I said "Arkansas." He replied with "oh, I am sorry."

I responded with did you go to college? He says "no." My response, "so you're going to make fun of me going to Arkansas and you didn't even go to college yet you have on an Alabama shirt? Think about how that sounds."

He said "yea whatever" and walked out.

Damn you're an a-hole. Lighten up Francis.

I'm a bit biased on this, mainly because the majority of everyone I worked with/hung out with while living in New Orleans ACTUALLY went to LSU

So you used to have a job where everyone was educated and now you have a job working with GED people. Sounds like you got demoted or fired.

I have no affiliation with the university. I suppose that means I'm just an uneducated sidewalk gumptard, who just so happens to be a programmer and grew up watching Alabama football.

Meh.

Yeah, pretty sure he picked the wrong site to ask this question.

Bama may have the most sidewalk fans and LSU is probably second.

I did not attend Alabama but have been a lifelong fan, had season tickets growing up the whole 9 yards, but when it came time to pick my college, I was offered a scholarship at a D II school out of state and wanted to continue playing football...But I live and die with the Tide year round...

I love when some arrogant shite head starts this thread every offseason and gets called out by fans of pretty much every team.
