As has been said before, the player who caused SMU to get the death penalty had a major ax to grind with that particular university.

And, has been also mentioned before, none of these players received payment for their interviews on Real Sports.

None, they didn't get paid for the interviews. Kramer just said so. sCam didn't come on as he wanted to get paid.

Do you know nothing about filmmaking at all, you b00b?

Filming Stanley McGlover at his charity event is a great back drop for any director. All McGlover was announcing is that he was going to be interviewed by HBO while at the charity event. If you come out you stand a pretty good chance of being on television.

Guess you have never heard of a B roll. No need to come up for air. Get your head back in the sand

If I had HBO at my charity event I would raise more money too. I mean, they are almost like PBS in that all they film is new and exciting charity events. They have face painting! This should rival the Sopranos ratings.

How is my head in the sand? I think all football players get cash handshakes. I also think HBO provided incentives to get these guys on. Money makes the world go round.

The guy runs an organization to help struggling kids. It seems like it's a legit organization. Obviously the publicity helps him, however a guy running a legit non-profit with events to help kids doesn't seem like it hurts his credibility.

I'm impressed that the guy went into something that actually gives back to the community. It isn't like he's got 100 million in the bank like some of the guys who open these organizations up. Hopefully his goal is in line with their mission statement. I run a business. I'm won't lie for good press, however taking some good press never hurts.

HBO is getting something from it too as they're filming the event and getting massive publicity for it right now. That is more of a two way business decision as both HBO and Big Brothers are getting huge press as this story grows.

HBO Makes $5 Million Commitment
to New Hospital Building

“My Darlin’ New Orleans,” a March 27 fundraiser hosted by HBO and“Treme,” raised $76,000 for the New Orleans Musicians’ Clinic, the production announced this week. Check out the vids below for inspiration, but get the whole story over at Nola.com.

HBO actually does stuff like this.

It's easy to make fun of a charitable event, however it does help kids. Maybe face painting isn't exciting, however for some of those kids it is.

We lost a family member to cancer and they were filmed for a documentary by a major cable station. Was it exciting? No, it was painful to watch. Did it help raise money for cancer? Yes. Television stations do work like this.

david iron SR's response to all this shite is money...

“Stanley Mclover and any others who make this claim are full of shite. I had two boys there who played pretty good during their Auburn careers we never got offered any cash. So there are a lot of NFL stars who played for Auburn that will say the these cats are full of it. All the good outweighs the bad. Don't be mad at Auburn cause you left school early because you were about to fail out and your NFL career never went the way you wanted. I told your arse to stay in school cause you couldn't play in a 3-4 D. All I can say is MAN up stick with the cards you played and enjoy life"

If a team wins the SEC Championship, they payed players. Face it. You dont get to that level in the SEC the old fashioned way. Lets be honest.

Again, I point to the guy who squealed on SMU. He was a bust and got mad. You act like every big recruit pans out. Get a grip. If you want to say the guys talking suck show that you didn't "want them" to come to AU. Show that no one else recruited them. Otherwise STFU with this shite about they sucked.

Oh? What is going on with the War Eagle family we always hear about in commercials, recruiting, ect? Either former players are randomly lieing about their old school, or former players and their family are quick to judge their former teammates.

Either way, serious ugliness. Do recruits know what they are buying into there?
