Sources are saying that he’s only been targeting Scott Drew and no one else. The big donors better not let him get away with that. Drew has been trending downwards after the 2021 title. Not to mention he has an abysmal record against Kansas.

He was always going to be target #1.

The last Memphis coach they hired win them a natty.

The last Memphis coach they hired won 30+ games 5 straight seasons.

I wouldn’t put it past Barnhart to hire an underwhelming coach. He doesn’t have the first clue on how to evaluate the record and stats of a coach when looking at potential candidates.

This!

Not the sharpest tool in the shed but sure gets paid a lot. Most of his hires in the past have ties to his former job stops. Stoops applied to UK, not Mitch found him.

In what conference?

Pretty sure it was not the ACC or SEC.

Just an observation.

He didn't hire Cal, the Board did.

The board may have "rubber stamped" the personal choice of 2 donors at the time. I think one has since passed and the other is still with us.

Penny was a good kid who overcame a rough, parentless childhood

If you get a chance to watch the 30 for 30, This Magic Moment, it’s a pretty good insight as to how Shaq & Penny worked well together at first and then imploded too soon.
