Memphis will be battling the lesser Drew for a first four spot for the foreseeable future

He is gonna sign the number 1 recruit in the nation, along with 2 more top 50 guys and a top 150. The top 2020 guy (from Fesno, CA) the first university he has visited was the University of Memphis and there are a couple top 100 guys locally. The youngest Lawson kid is a top 50 guy for 2021 and he will stick in Memphis. They are setup to succeed for quite a while already.

It is really just going to come down to if he is a bad coach or not. He will be successful as an average coach if he pulls some of the talent that is projected.

Memphis will beat lesser teams and maybe some above average teams on talent alone. But that AAU, street ball, style of basketball will get them waxed by any team with solid coaching

You realize some of the better teams in the nation run that "street ball" style stuff, right?
One thing I know about basketball is that hustle plays at all levels. Desire and determination can overcome pretty substantial talent disparity. I've seen it work, I've been on teams that were successful above their heads because the style of ball rewarded hustle.
If Anfernee Hardaway can teach a group of guys to play as hard as he did, and those guys are high level talent guys, they're gonna be good. It's just a question of how good.

Can someone give me some context? Have the Vols dropped so far off the SEC radar and national perception that trolling Memphis State basketball is some kind of big win for a soon to be former Big Six member?
