Pel has done everything he could for the program hell from what I hear sutton while retired is helping him out a little. If we could not get Mike Anderson then we need to keep Pel. How do you suspend your whole team before the season begins?

Give me a break?

As much as I wanted Anderson to replace Nolan in the beginning....I just don't see Anderson coming...Hopefully Long can repair that Bridge with Nolan so all will be well again....I am sick of this crap!!

Marc Turegon mold. He built a very respectable team in Wichita,

I didn't know he was a Dixon guy.

He would certainly be a candidate, the current Wichita coach would be another up and comer but not sure the fanbase wants another one of those.

What about the guy at Tulsa? Would that be going back to the well too many times?

That is the better Sutton. No way we want Sean Sutton.

No. He's not going anywhere.

I think the HireTurgeon.com site should be started. Especially after the win today, even though it was Clemson, who has a huge history of folding up.

Anderson is the only one that would be an upgrade that we're capable of landing. He would come to Arkansas. Did you see Missouri's crowd the other night after a strong NCAA appearance? Arkansas has the fan support if you put a capable team out there (see OU & Texas last year). He would also bring back the style that all of Arkansas loved.

I watched that game just to see Turgeon, how he coaches, how his team plays, see whether they are fundamentally sound.

They played a tough man defense and played it well. No needless switches, good help side defense, overall good performance. The aTm team is well ahead of where our program is.

Bama also looked better than I expected yesterday. I think they made a good hire with Grant.

Mike Anderson is the ONLY guy Arkansas should even consider hiring. He is a GREAT GUY, and he is the ONLY person who knows Nolan's system inside and out. Hog fans everywhere KNOW we are ALL really just searching for a return to HOG BALL, and the ONLY person out there in the college game who can bring that back to us is Mike. I believe he would come back to Arkansas in a Heartbeat, if asked! This has ALWAYS been his "DREAM JOB!" GO GET MIKE ANDERSON! PAY THE MAN ... whatever it takes!!! AND GO HOGS GO!!!

Then I'd suggest Bobby Petrino. I hear he has a great offensive mind and knows how to score points. Don't laugh til you ask. The novelty of it would at least fill up BW for a while anyway.

Mike Anderson will never be on the BWA sidelines again, unless bringing the Tigers to town.

I heard on the 102.9 station in Lr last night, I think which was a re-air, that Pelphrey came in to his 1pm Monday press conference 35 minutes late, was unshaved and looked like he just got out of bed. One of the hosts (these may have been back-ups) suggested he looked like he was snuggled up with his buddy Jack (Daniels I assume). I wonder if he is truely in over his head at this point?

I had the idea if Arkansas canned him they were going to get another up-and-comer like him and that is probabaly true so why start over but if Arkansas doesn't start playing alot better it might be time to look at a change.

too much money is being lost to go after another question mark; UA may not get a big name, but they really need to get somebody with a solid resume. Both Heath and Pelphrey were way too green to know what we were getting, both were bad hires in retrospect but basically got the job because of bad circumstances.

Times are tight right now (in this economy!!!), but the share of ESPN's SEC deal should more than offset lost income to the RF. It's time to shell out some money before everyone forgets that the Razorbacks were once a proud, strong program.

Why do we have to hire Anderson?

If his record is worthy, give him a shot. But NOT solely based on his Nolan connection.

wavehog, if memory serves me correctly Arkansas tried to go after a big name coach, several as a matter of fact, and they all turned it down except Dana Altman.

It's not as good of a job as it once was. Then again college basketball in general is not as good as it use to be so does it all matter? It's getting to a point you should just use these games as a social event and who cares about winning or losing

i said in my post that Arkansas may not be able to get a big name but should get someone with a solid resume instead of an 'up and comer'. Altman actually does have a solid resume; I was okay with the hire at the time.

the rest of your post is garbage. the job isn't as good as it once was because we've had a decade of bad coaching over bad teams. Arkansas is still mentioned in the same breath as UK as the only two programs in the SEC that really matter to basketball; and just last year, you could heard ESPN analysts saying during the UT and OU games that a strong Arkansas is good for the NCAA, not just the SEC.

who cares about winning? come on. fans obviously care. the state cares. ESPN analysts seem to think the entirety of the NCAA has reason to care. the university cares, and needs to show it by getting a good coach. this is a business as well as a social event.

Will not happen. He will be at Mizzou for a long long time.

Hire Scotty Thurman or Pat Bradley
