He was a drunk who claimed half of his titles. Never understood the fascination with this guy. Don't think he would be near as successful as Saban or several other HOF coaches of today's time.

He meant so much to the SEC and the south all around. I was at the corner 41st and Bway in Manhattan when I saw the headlines he passed (Yeah no Internet yet). Shook me up.

He did a lot to integrate the SEC and elevated SEC football.
