Yep, especially as each pitch becomes more high stress and situational stuff is more prevalent (which it of course isn't when it's 6-1 in the 3rd already).
Hell, you're already seeing a bunch of balks called with pitchers not being used to it. They're only allowed one step off or fake to a runner on base, so they'll be guys who realize this mid step off and try some half assed throw to an unoccupied first base for a balk.

The watch is how he gets the pitch from the dugout.

Oh also 9/23 with 3 HR's and 7 RBI's at the plate
Part of me wishes Jay would let Skenes hit. He had 13 HRs and hit over .300 as a two way pitcher/catcher last year for Air Force. However, the more logical side of me knows we are fine without his bat and can't afford to lose him as a Friday starter. Seeing Tommy White dislocate his shoulder on a pickoff attempt at 1st base drove that point home to me. Just not worth the risk of some freak injury like that happening to a pitcher.

Outside of Rock most of the guys took a normal time. They stepped out, stared at the bat, took a breath to refocus, and stepped in. What made A&M games so long was a good offense and poor defense/pitching. Lots of runs, lots of pitching changes. AND A&M ABs were longer than most. We see pitches. We foul off pitches. We grind ABs.

I love that y'all do all that stuff, but just taking an extra 3 or 4 seconds while the pitcher is waiting dictates the pace and I would think can rustle a pitcher. Not complaining about it, well I guess I sort of am, but it is out of envy, because I like the approach.
And it may only be 2-3 seconds, but it is consistent. And I love the staring at the bat. I think it focuses the hitter.

Gonna be some growing pains in terms of enforcing penalties but the pace of at bats is so refreshing with pace rules.
Amen! I have seen a lot of complaints on the Rant about the pitch clocks but I am all for them.
