Chattanooga, lived in Atlanta and KING Maryville growing up though. Currently in Nashville until the fiancée finishes her residency then it’s back to God’s country.
Can’t really say there’s anything to do in Nashville that I couldn’t find in Knoxville, unless you are a fan of subpar football franchises and Axe throwing

I'll be the first to talk shite about Nashville, but lack of things to do in comparison to Knoxville of all places is not one of the reasons to do so.

If you want to bring some examples ITT then I’d be more than happy to consider them
In fact I’d argue there is LESS to do in the Mid State but idk if this board can handle that

We all know the real action in the state of Tennessee is in the Northeast corner. The rest of you are boring and soft as frick.

The floodgates to every holler and pass in Southwest Virginia will open and the children of Scotland and Ireland will decend with the fire of 1,000 suns.

Can you imagine a night of degeneracy after catching the Food City 500?
My God the Tri is undefeated

If they'd lower those damn ticket prices so the blue collar, mountain dew chugging, meth using backbone of America type folks could attend again maybe the 500 would fill up like old times.

There are shows, musical or otherwise, basically every night of the week. There are festivals about every other weekend. There are two major sports franchises and now an MLS soccer team. There are multiple lakes within 15-30 minutes of the city. It's a city of over 1.5 million people and growing at a rapid pace, and with that comes what you would expect from any big city.... restaurants, events, whatever. There's really never anything not going on in Nashville with the growth it's had the past 10 years. I guess I'll agree with you on one thing, the pedal taverns and their many variations are horrible and wish they would go away. And the arrogance of the native Nashvillians is the worst. And I do think Nashville has completely sold out of its culture trying to be the new Atlanta.
Knoxville is a small city with small city things. There are mountains and lakes within driving distance, which is nice, but that's about it. There is very little variety in Knoxville. If you're young and still enjoy going to bars with college-aged kids, then sure it's fun. But if you're not from there or aren't a UT fan, it's quite meh. And honestly, most of the outdoor activities like hiking around Knoxville can be done in Nashville with basically the same drive time as it requires in Knoxville. I lived in Knoxville for quite some time. I'm very aware of what it has to offer.

Plenty of shows and live music in Knoxville, you aren’t getting the same mega stars performing in Knoxville that you’d see at Bridgestone, but I probably went to 15-20 shows a year in Knoxville when I lived there.

Knoxville has the ICE BEARS and the Tits are irrelevant.
I would make the argument that minor league sports are superior to professional franchises, Sounds and Smokies > Titans. I also do not and have never given a shite about the Titans so maybe that skews muh perception.

MLS
Lol I will not bite on this troll, the league is a semi pro league and the quality is groff.

There are lakes just as close to Knoxville. Overall, Knoxville > Nashville when talking about the outdoors and it’s not remotely close imo

This is a huge negative imo, way too many transplants from Ohio and Alabama, which had a big influence on the next point

‘Native Nashvillians’ are over on the East side slingin dice and shooting each other
Had this been 2005 and not 2020, I would agree with you. But it is 2020 and imo Nashville has become just a generic, cookie cutter big city. Would much rather live in Knoxville or Chattanooga.

And while I 100% understand why you and others would laugh at what I'm about to say, I'd much rather live in Memphis where I'm from but it would be a poor career decision for me to go that route.
