Finebaum's show really is the Jerry Springer Show of Sports Talk Radio.
He has the easiest job in the country. I started listening some when he came on xm, and was surprised at how little he actually says on his show.
He makes one or 2 comments then takes a crazy Bama or Auburn fan, they go nuts for 3 minutes. He then says "alright {insert name} from {insert Alabama city} we have {insert name} from {insert Alabama city} lets go to {insert name}"
He does this for a few hours each day and has 1 or 2 guests. It is the best gig in the country, and I bet he is making a killing. He stirs the pot a lot less than I expected once I started listening.

A lot of implications that all of what Finebaum does is calculating and maybe even smart.
So what does he get out of downplaying and talking down LSU/Miles but not doing it to that degree about any other SEC program?
I think he is more of a smug ignorant smuck than some of you give him credit for, one that got lucky enough to find the right gig. Not to say that he isn't somewhat self aware of what he is doing with the local fanbase. But his whole Miles/LSU spiel shows him to be a very incapable sports analyst, if, you know, he ever wanted to be a real one.
