around and drove to nearest recruiting center in Nashville and joined. Was an assistant at Vandy then. He flew on a bombing crew for four years otherwise he likely would have been an Arkansas legend instead of Bama. No big deal at the time as everybody was a patriot. Interesting how things turn on a dime though.

We can't seem to keep the good home guys.

But getting Frank Broyles from mizzou was very big for our program.

And your point is? I think about everyone knows when Pearl Harbor was bombed. My dad's birthday as a matter of fact.

That is a hell of a way to talk about a war veteran.......especially today.

I guess trash is going to trash though.

And it's gold coming from a UT fan since the Chattanooga terrorist shooter was a Vol.

I have no idea where you got that bomber crew story, but thats 100% incorrect.

Bryant served honorably in the Navy on a troop transport for a short time, even making heroic efforts to save many of his men’s lives when the transport he served on was sinking due to a “friendly” collision.

But he spent most of WW2 coaching military football teams at Georgia Pre-Flight and North Carolina Navy Pre-Flight.
