If Saban coaches at Alabama for the next 22 years and wins 7 national championships during his time with Alabama will he go down as Alabama's best and most beloved coach or will it still be the Bear?

Saban stay somewhere for 22 years?

But, if that happens then Bear still gets it. He played for Bama, coached for Bama, he was Bama through and through.

It's gotta be Coach Bryant..My family has generations connected to AU and have always been AU fans. I have cousins who teach there (some have actually made dean)I got uncles who sit on boards etc etc.... BUT when I was 10 or 11 If Coach Bryant had asked me to play football for him.. I think I would have.

PS I expect BS from bammers but IF any AU fans care to comment I will not take it lightly.......still can't believe Bear called us a cow college and it still hangs around...... geez

This Thread is why I feel he will eventually try to win 3 at 3 different schools. (He will first have to win a NC first this year or next otherwise he will not leave and may get too long in the tooth)

A. Maryland
B. Kentucky
C. Texas A&M

And to answer the orginal question, Coach Saban won't be at Alabama 22 years from now. He's not going to coach into his late 70s.

I don't think Saban will coach for more than another 6-7 years. I just don't see him going the Paterno/Bowden route.

Sorry Nicky- Gumps only want you to win for them
You will never replace the bear and always be second fiddle to him

#1 reason Nick will leave the Tide- His ego demands he is number one- number two just want do!

I understand that your question is an "if", but I just don't see that happening. The game is far more competitive than it was in the Bear's heyday.

That said, if he posts that kind of record, I'd have to argue that he is the more able coach. It's just tougher to dominate now than it used to be.
