Totally agree. Marching bands provide no significant value to the game experience and cost millions. Ditch them.

I love our band. Some of the halftime shows may be boring, but then you get some like the one the AUMB did last weekend against Georgia. It was Back to the Future theme and the band provided the music for the video that was on the Jumbotron. I thought it was very well done! You can watch it here

Most of the people who do marching band aren't even on scholarship anyways or at most they get a scholarship that simply pays for the class credit. It's basically people volunteering their time and you want to get rid of it.

Then we need to get rid of all of these title 9 sports and other men's sports that no one remotely cares about. Just drop everything except football and basketball.
After we do that we can all agree to hard cap head coaching salaries since we're all so worried about the money being spent.
Yeah, all that sounds like great fun.

Percussion section alone should keep this from ever happening. But, I think something new and innovative should be explored. Marching bands have grown stale for the most part, but it is college football tradition.

The Tennessee Band is better than the football team. Maybe you hillbillies should stop playing football and concentrate on Band Festivals.

I find pretty much all the SEC bands to be boring. I hope at some point my generation wants bands that mix up the current boring routines. I'd like for Bama to be able to Alabama A&M during the game, and at halftime.
