Past time to finally do away with Univ Marching Bands

Its archaic, costs tons of money, and outside of OSU and Southern, they aren't entertaining.
All Universities have sound systems and a guy that mixes the music that can play the old band rendition of the schools fight song and maybe some other BS song they have played in the past. Its way more entertaing than seeing fat flag girls and some dude playing the flute, walking in outfits from Colonial days. The band is only there for all the old cooks that still scream tradition, lets look to the future and not to yesterday.
Save the money on from the bands schollies, travel, and support and use it for research, education, and re-tooling Universities to meet the education needs for future development.

I say we do away with all music that isn't made on synthesizers and drum machines. Why play an instrument, when everyone has a stereo? It's archaic.

By God if that extra money goes into the university the football players are just gonna be more pissed. The school should take away every scholarship from every other athlete at the University and then they can take all the profit and give it to the football players who earned it.

The Golden Band from Tigerland is a shell of it's former self due to a completely idiotic choice of Roy King as the Director of Bands. It's like we're stuck in the stone ages with this douche bag. The stadium songs are the same ones I heard played 20 years ago. The half time shows are repetitive and boring. Their sloppy during the pregame salute. It's become such a bland product.

Doing away with the marching band is like doing away with UAB football. No one really cares UNLESS you try to do away with it.

This is what most people think, its wasted money and the DJ does a much better job.
