Jason Witten is TE Coach now and has recruited a very strong TE room, and offense is changed……... Boom….

We will need a consistent run game and healthy QB1.
One thing not mentioned this thread is our TE room. That was non existent last year and been weak for some time. And it can help both run game and QB.
They can offer short passes for QB. They can help chip/block to protect QB. They can run block. The position is a Swiss army knife if fully used and has right players/coaching.
BV brought in one of the best to ever play the position in Jason Whitten. Brent called him a “dude of dudes” and said he was the hardest working new coach he’s ever seen. If he pans out and revamped TE room gives us production that will help all other facets of offense. Will need to see it on the field.

But you can't play ball in Oklahoma and not be able to run the damn ball. That's the whole season to me. The line returns five guys with 6+ starts, including five-star Michael Fasusi, who started every game as a true freshman, and center Jake Maikkula. Bedenbaugh cut the sacks from 50 to 29 with three freshmen starting the last month, and my data grades the pass pro 31st. The run blocking grades 103rd. That's the gap between a playoff team and a title team. They lost All-SEC guard Febechi Nwaiwu, added a two-year Arkansas starter in E'Marion Harris, and handed the RB room to Deland McCullough, who just coached Ashton Jeanty and Jeremiyah Love back to back. Jason Witten's coaching the tight ends, Florida's Hayden Hansen headlines a rebuilt room, and the spring emphasis was two-tight-end sets that can actually set an edge. Xavier Robinson at 5.0 a carry is the lead back. The experience is finally there

I'm really pumped about Witten and seeing how he develops Hansen. TE's didn't catch many TD's for us last year. I bet that changes.
If the work they put into the running game pays off, we'll be a complete team that can beat anyone.

Rocky Beers is another TE I’m wanting to see. He does not cough up the ball. Was hit so hard he got knocked out of a game last year yet hung on to the ball. Came from Colorado State. His sister just graduated from OU as a senior on the women's basketball team. Great name but all reports say tough as nails. I think this room will make a huge difference for offense.

Is there going to be a better defense in College football? A healthy Mateer, a terrific O-line, and Harris / Satenga / Livingstone / Hansen to throw to.... Bro, they will be legit af.
So did you bet your savings on the over under of 7.5 wins?

Oklahoma is very unique this year
You could say Alabama, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, and Ole Miss could all go to the playoff or be 7-5/8-4
We are going to see a lot of upsets this year with a nine game schedule.
Every road game will be tough if you don’t show up. I watched a lot of their games last year in Oklahoma won a lot of close games. They had a lot of things go their way in the Alabama and Tenn games. Many turnovers went their way and the other teams missing field goals.
Do we even need to talk about the Auburn game and the illegal TD and called back Auburn TD. They could have easily lost all of those. Hell, a horrible LSU team with a backup quarterback was throwing in the end zone to win the game late.
You just never know year to year. You could actually be a better team on paper and have a worse record.

Missouri doesnt have the built in recruiting advantages of ND or LSU. Drink isnt doing less with more. Terrible comparison.

Brought in 3 run blocking TEs.
OL should be better on the edges.
Have RB depth and a hired a respected RB coach.
Run the ball and take the pressure off Mateer and a lot of good things may happen
