DUH........
Also, Bama beat OM by 25, OM beat LSU by 3, so BAMA>LSU by at least 28.. -Logic and shite
Bama just needs to win though. 13-0 and you're in the title game.. And i'll be pulling for you the rest of the way

I don't think CNS will run the score up, but with the silliness that is BCS does he have to think about the margin?
I also think Tennessee has improved since that loss and score comparison rarely workout- especially with one data point. I think Tennessee could play well this week, but let's say Bama goes up 38-10 with 8 minutes left.
I cannot envision CNS leaving 1's on the field if Bama is up 28 with 8 minutes to go.
Bama isn't Louisville. They don't need style points.

It's the same team. This wasn't opening weekend, it was three weeks into the year. Teams are rolling by then. Oregon just made them look that bad. You guys just don't want to believe Oregon is that good.

yeah because playing 2 really really bad teams at home is really a good warm up for playing one of the best teams in the country on the road 2500 miles from home with a new coaching staff and very young players........sureeee
if you don't think tennessee has improved since then, then you are wasting your time on an SEC board

Tennessee has improved, but how much? What is the score if we play Oregon tomorrow?

It took Saban a season to beat the loser mentality outta Bama in 2007. Of course UT has improved. Duck fans don't know football.

Oregon doesn't run up the score either. They didn't put up any points in the fourth quarter. It was 59-7at the end of three.

Id say we'd still lose, because oregon is very good. But we have made HUGE strides since then in terms of pass defense (Murray dn Shaw were held to less than 200yds) and containing a mobile QB (see Shaw). I think they'd beat us by a couple touchdowns, but not nearly as bad as last time.

I agree...CNS does not want to take any extra risk with his starters if the game is out of reach already. Give the Newbies a chance to strut their stuff, so when it' s their time, they know...

Funny, cause when Oregon fans used the same excuse in 2011 we were slammed for it.
Oregon - LSU was a 3 pt game at halftime because LSU scored on that final drive. DeAnthony Thomas came out in the second half and fumbled twice on our side of the field, setting up 2 easy, quick scoring drives for LSU. He was a true freshman playing in his first game. We also had several new starters on defense.
LSU was without question the better team, but we were much better midway through that season than we were opening night because of experience. But we got slammed and dismissed as sore losers for saying that. So why does Tennessee get to claim improvement as an excuse for their asswhoopin when we didn't?

Exactly. You go into the game, get ahead comfortably, then get your starters out to stay healthy. Why do things differently when you have so much success to show for it. Players get better by playing, when your first stringers have basically maxed out...get some others playing experience. Many of this year's first stringers were last year's second stringers who had the luxury of getting some reps in after the comfortable lead was established. It pays off over an extended period of time and is rather obvious if you are looking at things objectively.
As far as score comparisons, those are almost as useless as a pre-season basketball poll. As others have noted, there are NUMEROUS factors involved in games and why the score was one way in one game and another way in another game. Trying to compare the two is not completely irrelevant...it's good info to have but it's only a small portion of an objective prognosticator's analysis.

Yes, Oregon is that good. However, your logic regarding Tennessee is flawed and very detrimental to Oregon's own case for beating out FSU in the computer standings. The Tennesse team that played you isn't the same team that played UGA close and knocked off USCe. In any way shape or form. Duck fans would do themselves a favor by acknowledging this and hoping that Tennessee winds up with an end of the year ranking or at least a lot of respect for the improvement we've shown because that will make your blowout at Autzen a quality win rather than a win that doesn't matter.
You should be hoping like hell we're improved and that the media recognizes this improvement because it only helps your quest for the title game. Denying it out of some kind of weird SEC loathing is plain stupid in terms of the Ducks getting in that title game. Ducks are gonna be left out in the cold if it comes to an undefeated FSU and an undefeated Ducks' team for the second spot in the title game and Tennessee doesn't give you a SoS bump.

It was a 7 touchdown + FG lead when we called off the dogs at the end of three. If we played again id say a 5 TD win. You guys might be 17 pts better.

No I actually have been pulling for the Vols because of SOS. I'm just saying that our victory over you guys and your success in the SEC shows how good we are.

Were not saying it's an excuse. We're saying that we have improved since that arse whoopin, whereas you are saying that we haven't. Which is wrong.
Trying to compare the UT team that lost to oregon to the UT team that beat USCe is just dumb. I realize its the same team, but anybody with a brain can see imrpovements in offense, defense, playmaking ability, attitude, and confidence. trying so say otherwise is just ignorant.

Right, but then there's this:

"That's total bull**** that he threw the ball at the end of the game like he did," Aliotti said after the game. "And you can print that and you can send it to him, and he can comment, too. I think it's low class and it's bull*** to throw the ball when the game is completely over against our kids that are basically our scout team."
Style points all up in his duck head. Saban don't care.

The Duck fans are so amusing...
None of this will matter because at some point this season, Oregon gon' Oregon.
