quote:It's a situation where you have to break the rules to get the call right. Forward progress is not reviewable in that situation. Review rules were meant to reverse bad calls, this one binded them to a bad call. The call was completely atrocious, but it wouldn't matter without the bad rule.
Honestly can't believe they didn't change it after the review.

They were hoping to sneak one by for sure.
If the Mizzu coach had any integrity he would have had his QB take the ball hand it to the DT and then tackle him right there. Problem solved. Self-review.

Agreed, but if some retard official calls forward progress on that play, you should be able to go back and fix his retarded mistake.
Slippery slop, of course, to make judgement calls like that changeable, but I don't think anyone would have a problem in this instance.

Yup. One of the worst calls you will see this entire season. Was at the game and fans of both teams thought it was a foregone conclusion that is was Vandy's ball. Nope.

Worst part of the whole thing is how do you remotely believe that was forward progress? I mean perfect form tackle hit head right on the ball and it comes out immediately...hell his "forward progress" was stopped immediately by a perfect hit.
I was pissed about it until the final whistle blew but had gotten over it until this thread haha.

Same. Thanks.

Bear in mind that this was only one of EIGHT reviews this sorry-arse crew generated. At least in most of the others they eventually got the call right...

Vandy's fan seemed awfully upset about it....

Yeah, not very good

It was an awful call. That crew was hot garbage the entire game as a matter of fact.

Mason was livid on the sidelines (as livid as he gets, at least).
You really haven't watched Vandy at all this year, have you? I'm not saying I blame you, but Mason is one of the most fiery coaches on the planet. He admitted that last year he was trying to be basically a statue out there. This year, he is letting his personality out.

Nearly screwed us at the end as well with that sack that they tried to call an incomplete pass with less than a minute to go. Replay corrected it but the clock was stopped instead of running under a minute and Missouri having no timeouts left, and then they added time back to the clock, and then didn't start the clock until the snap. Fortunately it worked out but that crew was garbage the whole game.

Also, I believe 7 of the 8 reviews were plays originally ruled in favor of Missouri. The only one not originally ruled for Missouri was on a "dropped" TD pass by the Tigers. It was the "possession through the ground" rule, and it was confirmed.
The one review that ended up not mattering was the play before Vandy's first TD. They showed in-stadium a free frame with the nose of the ball laying on the goal line and Vandy's RB not down yet. It somehow stood as not a TD. It didn't matter, but it was still baffling to see that call made.

I sit about 15 rows back from the 20 yard line on that side. It was pandemonium. The crowd and both teams new what happened immediately. Vandy fans love to boo but they were booing through the first half and into halftime. I was pissed. They blew several easy calls that game.

One that was not reviewable was the pass interference where the Missouri player reached back and pushed the Vandy DB and they called pass interference on Vanderbilt. The DB never even lifted an army to reach for the guy. Terrible.

. I can't imagine the of suckage for the refs that get assigned to watch Vandy beat Mizzu.
clearly a fumble horrible call. The officiating was horrid, like 8 reviews. One of the hardest games to watch I have ever sat threw just horrible to watch minus the good defense played..EVERYTHING else sucked

You'll have to provide the video. No one watched that game.
LOL. You care so little that you have posted 6 times in this thread. (including variations of the same joke 3 times) Little Mizzou and Vandy are in your head for some reason.

Yeah, my dad had something to say about that when I called him on Sunday. It wasn't particularly polite. A naughty word or two might have been involved except my dad is a proper man who would never use such words, so I'm guessing I was talking to an imposter.
