Do we really need to have a breakdown of why "winning records" in 2020 are different than "winning records" in other years based on the makeup of the schedule?

They aren't if you just compare SEC records vs SEC records.

The only asterisk on the 2020 schedule is for LSU's lack of chest.

Weird since only 4 of your 11 SEC games were against teams with winning records.

Uhhh... Yeah. I'll let you figure out why that's irrelevant.

Believe it or not, SEC teams in 2019 won 50% of their conference games. In 2020, SEC teams also won 50% of their conference games

Imagine letting some random LSU fans on a message board own this much of your free time.

There are a finite number of teams that can have winning records each year.

2020 - 5 (Alabama played 4 of 4 possible)
2019 - 6 (LSU played 4 of 5 possible)
2018 - 6
2017 - 5
2016 - 4
2015 - 7

More teams with "winning records" generally just means there were more gawd awful teams that went 1-7 or 0-8. It doesn't mean that there were more "good" teams.

Combined SEC Winning % Opponents not including games vs themselves
2019 LSU - 53.1% (34-30)
2020 Alabama - 57.7% (56-41)

Meh, 2020 Alabama played 4 of 11 SEC teams with winning records.

2019 LSU also played 4 in only 9 games.

LSU fans were just as excited as the rest of us when the season began. It was only after they realized their team was trash that they began to spout that the year didn't count.

100% correct, kinda started after Mizzou game. These dudes literally made threads celebrating not having to play Alabama. LSU posters can't understand why Bama posters have taken over sRant.

Damn, we had a decent little run of intellectual banter. Oh well

The more bamas post to defend your record/success

The more you prove InsecureU *

Im giving LSU fans the opportunity to justify their stance. But so few seem willing to take advantage

This will never be a real discussion. Both sides will always pick their side when in the truth is that the two seasons were nearly identical and picking one over the other is splitting hairs.

It is fun to goof around as SoG so eloquently put it.

Eta: Even if the intent was to talk about the opt outs exclusively, it will always devolve into one season vs the other.

I can actually side with Bama since they so thoroughly dominated the competition.

Literally the most talented, deep SEC of all time, while we were told all year it was a down year for the conference.

You suck.

On paper, but not in reality. Too many teams had players miss games or miss practice for your comment to be a true claim. Those who didn't report cases had a huge advantage. Like I said, a report claimed he was trying to get the information out of the SEC Offices. He said the SEC had refused to give him numbers and he actually was calling each Universities Health Dept to see if that info was available. A joke of a year, protected by the establishment. Doesn't reflect on who got draft, so I do not understand the point of post. My guess is the Draft would have looked similar if the season wasn't played. Just an expanded Combine.

I appreciate the time and effort you put into this.

But bama fans must know at least two things....

And I post this at least once and usually twice a year.

Everybody knows:

1). Bama has the best program in college football history

2). Bama has the best HC in college football history

The reason for the InsecureU is that y’all are compelled (for some reason) to prove what everybody already knows.
