Nah. The Mormons obviously were offended by Horns Down shirts. Texas is not bothered by it, but BYU fans are bothered by it, so they made their fans stop.

Dude. Just say there are those in the Texas AD that it bothers, but the majority of the students couldn't care less about it. At least that would be halfway believable.
What is next? BYU is going to tell their students they can't yell for BYU at their own basketball games because it obviously does not bother Texas fans? Think about it. That is the reasoning you are presenting to us.
Texas does not care about the Horns Down, but BYU told their students they could not wear those shirts....even though it is not offensive and Texas does not care about it. Does that even remotely make sense?

Or maybe it makes sense when taken into full context?
'Horns Down' has been in the news over the last several weeks, ever since Texas head coach Rodney Terry went on a postgame rant after a loss to UCF. Terry confronted UCF players in the postgame handshake line and described the gesture as "classless". Terry's comments went viral on social media.
"When you do those kinds of things, it looks very classless and like you were just hoping to win. We never go into games trying to hope to win, we go into games expecting to win. So we don't act like that. We don't jump up and down and act like we won a national championship. We sure don't step on anyone's home court and try to show them up in any way. We don't do that.
Terry was criticized just a few days later after the Longhorns' next game against Baylor, when Texas beat Baylor on a buzzer beater. Terry was seen jumping up and down and celebrating on the sideline after the shot, the same thing he said he wouldn't do just a few days prior.

Headline? I was responding to what a Texas poster said. Please explain how my post was talking about a headline.

And by the way> There is a Texas poster on the Rant laughing about how BYU was forced to bend the knee about the shirts. So, maybe y'all need to get your stories straight?

That's a lot of words just to say "no."

Normally I’d agree with you, but in the case of BYU, yes - that makes complete and total sense

Then maybe you should try reading it again. Because I said yes. Maybe that is the disconnect with Texas fans? Reading ability? Comprehension?

You do realize that there are caffeine free sodas, right?

Actually, no. It doesn't. I mean, it seems as if the entire world is frowning upon Horns Down and whipping their students and fans back away from using that, and the only ones who do not care if it is used are the ones that they intend to protect. So referees and athletic departments are telling everybody they cannot use Horns Down because ....just because? Nobody finds it offensive? They just say people can't do it because...why exactly?
Seems like Texas would put out a statement saying they don't mind and diffuse the situation, right?

Texas, please don’t be some liberal arse triggered easy type school and fanbase when yall join the SEC.
I have heard Austin is getting all the bad Californians moving there. Nashville is getting all the good Californians moving to Nashville. Makes sense maybe why yall are acting like Cal Berkley.

People only want to remember the rare instances in between because it supports their narrative.

Really? I didn't know that. Do you have a link?
I wonder they the BIG 12 insists on making it a penalty? Seems odd.

Even Longhorn fans, some sitting merely 20 feet away, waved and gave thumbs up to the students. Some even asked to take a picture.
During the first media timeout of the game, the students wearing the “Horns Down” shirts were approached by senior BYU athletic administrators. According to students, they were very firm in their message to them.
“We [could] either leave the student section, or take the shirts off,” said a student.
Despite initial reports, no media was involved in the interaction. When asked for the reasoning, administration told the students that, “That is not who we are” and “That is not how we support our team.”

Lol at these bumpkins simultaneously believing Texas forced BYU to do this, but also remaining steadfast in their opinion that we won't be able to do it to them.
